Esse-don fans, you do realise you've lost your last 7 games by an average of 51 points right?

Tigers have made a lot of good calls recruiting lately. Hell, it even looked like Hampson has stopped running under the ball, though that could be that Essendon were kicking the ball high into the wind which made his usual running under ball perfect! However, letting Heppell go through to the keeper was a massive error.

It's funny, there's a few supporters putting acid on Hampson, but I reckon Vickery has as much on him now. He can play a more permanent forward role. It will be an interesting year for those two big blokes.

You mean you weren't booing the drug cheats?
No, I didn't boo them in R23 last year either. Neither did most Richmond fans, on either occasion. Maybe we have a bit of class, maybe it had been done to death by the time they got to us. Anyway, I feel sorry for the players, even if they were stupid.

RATD, it was on the broadcast. Banfield and Jack getting stuck into Baguely ... I think Cotch kicked two in a minute on him earlier in the game and then Banfield did later on. No big deal, just thought it was funny that anyone would bother during a practice game.

T2709, I agree with some of the Essendon supporters chucking a few toys out of the cot! However, the handing back of membership thing is not part of our culture ....

Matty Knight's calls bullshit on that statement, Hird only got his job at the threat of memberships plummeting, that worked out well for Essendon didn't ito_O

To be fair, it was almost a crime that a big club like us had to play on that windy piece of garbage pitch in the middle of a shipping container yard. And in front of only 2100 people too - it was like being at a Norf home and away game.

Anyway, I remember the last time Richmond beat us in a meaningless practice game and got their egos nice and inflated, until we smacked them at Dreamtime. Will be the same again this year.

Windy? your club comes from Windy Hill and after being embarrassed and kicked out by the bowling club you build a hideous warehouse out at Tullamarine based on a plan from Bunnings, and you call Punt Road windy, Punt Rd a traditional ground in excellent condition based in the sporting heart of the city something your team can only dream of:oops:

Oh you do realise the rest of the competition still plays on after the Bombers Premiership game the Dreamtime, and as I recall we hammered you at the end of the season when finals spots are on the line.

How's this. The first Essendon thread in about 2 years that is actually about football and it screams to 47 pages at warp speed

This thread was actually made during the 2013 pre-season after Essendon's atrocious end to their 2012 season. You may have become confused because Essendon pathetically collapsed at the end of last year as well, losing 5 of their last 6 by an average of 50+ points again. Once again they seem to think they're a finals lock, even though they haven't played finals since 2011, lost their best forward, received no draft picks and are about to lose half their team due to being low life scum sucking cheating campaigners.

I wasn't about to go back to page 1 of a scum thread, I'm already sorry I wandered in here in the first place, although the bombers tears mixed with false optimism is amusing.

It wasn't the symbolism and feralness one would see from Richmond. Yes numbers dwindled and many Essendon supporters were very public with their lack of faith in Knights to ever get a defensive plan going. I wasn't one of them but I was wrong. There was an immediate turn around at the club with the regime change. Last year's controversy obviously wasn't good for business but it's way too early to talk about working or not.

I remember that time well. When Essendon were winning games early in the season and their fans were proclaiming themselves flag favourites we warned them they were going to fall away and sure enough we were vindicated. This was in both 2012 where they started 8-1 and stilled missed the finals, and of course again in 2013.

Death, taxes and Essendon falling in a pathetic heap in the back half of the season. That's 7 losses in 8 weeks with an average margin of 45+. And to think they were talking top 4 earlier this year after beating Hawthorn and being #sobrave against the Swans.

Even we didn't get milned by the Bullflogs.

Essendont, one of the few other clubs a Blues guy like myself can legitimately laugh at :D

You're alright, Dukes. You and my brother-in-law, the only decent Essendon fans out there.

And Emma Quayle. You, my brother-in-law, and Emma Quayle. The only decent Essendon fans out there.

And a couple of guys at my cricket club. You, my brother-in-law, Emma Quayle, and a couple of guys at my cricket club. But that's it.

And...

Nup, that's it.
