It's on a Thursday.
It's at Etihad.
Members have to pay.

20k not a drop more!

First game of the year in Melbourne for the Dees.

First chance to see Howe, Cook, Blease, Evans.

Good chance of a win.

Jurrah.

Should be plenty of Melbourne fans there.

Frawley is certainly more important to us the Pears is to them.
Saying that, Watson is more important to then then Scully is to us.

Other then those 2, the other players missing aren't that important and it should be a pretty even game.

Why funny?

Melb $1.75
Ess $2.00

It's a close game - and by the way Essendon celebrated a draw last week shows how important the NAB cup is for 1 AFL club.
Celebrated a goal after the siren by a player who has been by and large left on the outer. It showed comradery. No one gave a **** about the result, only the performance and the spirit that was shown to fight back.

Speak for yourself
Hille is heaps important to us
Hocking finished 2nd in our B&F
Zaharakis finished our 2nd highest goal kicker even after playing in the midfield at the end of the year.
ontop of Watson and Pears

They are very important to us.
I would be disapointed if Essendon lost. I just think we have a better team then Melbourne.

I hate it when people list that as a reason.

No not for a reason, just the fact that a Melbourne supporter does not think Hille, Hocking and Zaka are important to our team, which I think they are.
and if you read my post I still think we will beat Melbourne.

Based on what? Last year, Melbourne finished higher on the ladder and beat you in the only meeting, and Essendon didn't recruit anyone in the off-season that improves them over Melbourne.

It is a gut feel, for some reason I dont rate Melbourne.
Personally I think Hird and Bomber would have a bigger effect on our teams overall performance then 1 or 2 players who we could have recruited. But the addition of Heppell and Hibberd will be pretty handy aswell.
By the way Essendon players were not playing for Knights at all by season end. So I would expect a fair bit of improvement on that alone.

Essendon and Melbourne are 2 of the only teams who might not be treating this years NAB Cup as practice matches I reckon.

Hird will want a bit of momentum early, and Bailey would like to see a bit of confidence and a finals appearance for his young stock.

Could be a good game as far as NAB Cup goes.

Dees by a goal!

There's some solid reasoning. A gut feel. For some reason. Fact you go for Bombers doesn't have anything to do with it. Yeah, that's credible  sigh etc
