If Jetta or Melksham did that bounce on Anzac Day that cost us a 2 goal turnaround they would have been lynched on this board.

Merret is new, so he can get away with everything.

Merrett has very poor second efforts and cannot sustain any real pressure. He is physically nowhere near AFL right now.

The first Adelaide game will be the best he'll do this year. I like the kid but he's another preseason away from playing 6-10 games.

The bounce in question was actually a ball up where young Merret applied a tackle on Swan (I think) and caused a stoppage after the mis bounce.

Really need to show something here. I don't think we're in trouble, not by a long shot, but we should flatten them.

Essendon by 10+ goals. pls

Shit, how could I forget the MANtis?

Aren't you forgetting someone?

With our next 3 games after this one (Richmond, Sydney and Carlton) we need to pick our best team for this game and get into some form for the next month. We need to come out and belt Brisbane in the way we should have smashed GWS. Perhaps the expected margin won't be as high (we should have beaten GWS by 100 points and should beat the Lions by 10 goals) but we just need to come out and play ruthless footy. We need to be mature enough to play how we want to play for 4 quarters no matter the opposition (unlike against GWS where we played thinking it would come easy). After this 4 week block we play Gold Coast at Etihad and have a bye before travelling to Perth to play the West Coast Ducks. That gives us 2 weeks to "manage player's load's" as coaches like to say (read - resting) so please please come out firing against the Lions.

Out: Hardingham, NLM (unlucky but back for dreamtime), Davey (inj) Gumby (Rested)
In: Ryder, Dempsey, Stanton, Merrett

Hams is knocking on the door to take Hardingham's spot. Sorry to say but Hardingham really needs to find form and disposal efficency fast, good spoils won't keep him in the best 22.

We need to get our best team on the park and try and keep it as unchanged as possible each week.

Stanton for NLM
Dempsey for Hardingham
Ryder for Gumbleton/Crameri

If Davey is injured: Merrett/Jetta

Unlucky??? LOL You don't bring in a guy just because of the color of his skin. He was extremely poor against the Cats, gave nothing

What did you expect the guy to do in just over a quarter of footy? He was rusty I know and had no impact but geez 7touches in that time in first game in the first is forgivable

Nah. Hardingham gets games because he is a specialist stopper. The only players that will take his spot at this stage are Dempsey and Pears. There is then a real gap to first years players and a rookie who are potentially capable of the job. I have't seen too much of Hams in defence, he'll play at some stage but it will be to replace one of the midfield rotations.

Have an impact!!! He could of doubled those touches but when they have no impact on a game then it's of no value to the team. Being the sub doesn't give you a pass for being poor.
NLM falls into the same category as Hille with Jetta not far behind.

Players also get a day off a week like any normal job. AFL policy. I can't remember which day we elect to do that
