Yeh reckon were unfortunately deciding between Tsatas and Humphries

Carlton 1st: I dont see them taking Hotton, dont think hes a small forward enough. At best a high half fwd who plays at stoppages. Ollie Hollands would have to be on the radar as someone who can play anywhere.

I do think GWS will be hopeful of Konstanty being available

What Sydney do is hard to tell. Think its a focus on midfielders. Will be wanting someone ready in 3 years when Parker declines. Maybe half back runner aswell/Ollie Hollands

I actually think Stkilda will want Jefferson and Eagles will have a good look at 12. Dont think he gets past them

Think Sybowski goes much later

Lewis Hayes a steal that late, i expect to go earlier but love the dees as his target

I like Owies but remain largely unconvinced by Durdin at this stage. Hotton can play midfield and overall I think he's probably what you need in there. Did consider Hewett but went with Hotton in the end.

I reckon if Busslinger slides to Carlton at 10, they'll pounce on him.
With injury concerns still around for Gov and Marchbank, we'd be mad to pass him up imo.

Third round:

Pick 38, Greater Western Sydney: Harry Rowston (Calder Cannons, 182/??, M/F). 286 points to match. Match with pick 53 and 57, go into a 141 point surplus.

Pick 39, Western Bulldogs: Jaiden Magor (South Adelaide, 185/79, MF).

Pick 40, North Melbourne: Luke Teal (OC, 188/80, HB).

Pick 41, Adelaide: Max Michaelanney (Norwood, 192/78, MD). 232 points to match. Matched with pick 46, go into a 99 point surplus.

Pick 42, Hawthorne: Billy Dowling (NA, 187/79, IM).

Pick 43, Sydney: Toby McMullin (SD,185/??, MF).

Pick 44, North Melbourne: Jed Adams (Peel Thunder, 194/89, KD).

Pick 45, Fremantle: Jack Cleaver (East Fremantle, 188/87, Utility).

Pick 46, Gold Coast: Jason Gilbee (BP, 190/76 OM/F).

Pick 47, St. Kilda: Harry Cole (Claremont, 186/77, MF).

Pick 48, Hawthorne: Hugh Bond (GWV, 184/81, IM).

Pick 49, Carlton: Jack O'Sullivan (OC, 177/70, SF).

Pick 50, Hawthorne: Tom McCallum (TD, 192/78, MD).

Pick 51, Collingwood: Jonti Schuback (GP, 183/74, HB)

Pick 52, Hawthorne: Tom Scully (WA, 201/83, KF)

Pick 53, Richmond: Harry Lemmey (WA, 199/83, KF).

Pick 54, Geelong: Jaxon Binns (DS, 182/73, SD)
Great work! Only thing that looks a bit off from a dogs perspective is taking Magor. We desperately need some outside run so someone like Gilbee or Binns would be a better list fit but we do like taking inside mids!

Then what happened to 27?

Pies have pick 27 as well as 25. So I think there is a pick missing there.
Must have missed it. Fixed.
Busslinger and Weddle is perfect, sets up our back line for years.
Yeah, lack of KPP's is what I got from the Dogs list
Bell has come out and said we will be focusing on talls in this draft

I think he means we'll pick a ruck late to replace Meek. Not expect 3 or 4 talls.
I think if a key defender is there in the right range you'd take that but I think someone like Benning could be a good key defender with his athleticism.
I reckon if Busslinger slides to Carlton at 10, they'll pounce on him.

Maybe. I liked Akuei from what I saw in the VFL this year but I still feel Hotton is the guy.

Magor is more forward than midfield from what I've seen.

Unless the Dons junk it up and inject some pure Humphrey into their midfield. Every possibility Tsatas or Sheezel get to us if Dodo does his thing and Gold Coast steers clear of the Vic Metro boys. Mackenzie will slide then.
If Sheezel gets to Essendon we'll take him. But he won't.

Should teams take best available in the first 20 or so picks and focus on needs later? If a club doesn't see a best available (or a clear leading group of 2-3) they have the option to try and live-trade the pick, which is surely a better option than reaching early?

From the highlights I've seen seems one of those flashy inside/outside type.

North probly won't but I would try and swap 4 for 3 that way we get one of Sheezel or Wardlaw
If that was the case we would be asking for your future 1st as part of the deal. Which you would no doubt decline.

Jefferson is too similar to mcleod allison and st kilda need mids and a key defender desperately.
If they go anyone who is not a mid or busslinger id be surprised.

Fourth round:

Pick 55, North Melbourne: Jake Walker (Glenelg, 183/80, IM).

Pick 56, Port Adelaide: Ethan Phillips (Port Melbourne, 196/90, KD).

Pick 57, Richmond: Archie Lovelock (Glenelg, 178/72, OM).

Pick 58, Geelong: Blake Drudy (OC, 177/73, OM).

Pick 59, Hawthorne: Harvey Gallagher (BP, 179/77, HB)

Pick 60, Carlton: Lloyd Johnston (Northern Territory, 180/80, HB).

Pick 61, Fremantle: Jackson Broadbent (PT, 201/100, Ruck).

Pick 62, Western Bulldogs: Hudson O'Keefe (OC, 201/91, Ruck).

Pick 63, North Melbourne: Phoenix Foster (Norwood, 196/85, KF).

Pick 64, Gold Coast: Tyrell Dewar (Subiaco, 185/70, SF).

Pick 65, Gold Coast: Taj Cambell-Farrell (DS, 185/84, OM).

Pick 66, Collingwood: Harry Barnett (WA, 202/93, Ruck)

Pick 67, Sydney: Callum Verrall (ER, 187/79, HB).

Pick 68, Fremantle: Finn Emile-Brennan (DS, 181/72, HB)
Unfortunately I think there will be <50 selections.

Not a fan of that approach. I think half the reason Essendon are in the hole that we are is because regardless of whether they suit our list we pick "best available" no matter what. I have a tailored approach, take the best available option. With top 5 picks, maybe.
Is it true that Tsatas dosen't tackle a weak part of his game?
It gets blown way out of proportion. He's a clear cut part of this year's top 5, and I think Essendon fans don't like him because he has a singular flaw.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if they went a key forward over someone like Oliver Hollands when it came down to it
What if sheezel goes 3 would you take tsatas or look at clark?
Clear cut top 5. Take whoever is left out of Sheezel, Wardlaw or Tsatas.

Yeah I just try to fill it all out

I think Humphries is a chance to go to ess. He is a better fit IMO.
