That’s all the picks Essendon will take in this draft, the remaining picks happy to either trade out or pass.

Pick 59 - Collingwood select Phoenix Hargrave

Phoenix Hargrave - South Adelaide

182cm Midfielder
One of SA most decorated footballers in this years draft class, Hargrave had an exceptional under 16’s campaign 2 years back. Having been exposed to Senior football at the Panthers already holds the young Midfielder in good preperation. After taking a few Athletes with the last couple of Picks Collingwood are happy to nab a pure footballer here as West was off the board.

Pick 56 - Collingwood select High Boxshall

Hugh Boxshall - Claremont

188cm - Midfield
A clearance king, Boxshall standout in the state screening and as the best available athlete available here, hopefully his natural football ability will find him a role in the Midfield rotation, Half Forward or Half back in years to come.
I cannot see Collingwood pick up a mid-fielder with their 1st pick given they need key-position players both up forward & down back.

Pick 52 - Collingwood take Ned Bowman

Ned Bowman - Norwood

186cm - Half Forward
The High Flying Croweater should fill out well and progress into the midfield rotation over the next 3 years. A lot of elite measurable attributes in physical ability, Speed, Leap and Agility, will add strength and develop the ability to accumulate with greater exposure to leauge leading facilities.
I cannot see Collingwood pick up a mid-fielder with their 1st pick given they need key-position players both up forward & down back. Maybe with their 3rd pick if he is still available. OK.

Yeah, look I’m not a Collingwood supporter but with Pendlebury and Sidebottom on the way out, Membrey in, I would assume Collingwood may start to take the Port approach and look to bring mature bigs in unless there is a premium First round talent, history suggests that’s where the Key Position stars are found, not deep in the third round.

I would have nabbed West with the third pick, personally if I was drafting in the third round I am taking the best athlete and hoping they come good. But West and Tallen Rosenzweig both tickle me as KPP Prospects.

Good luck for 2025.
