Those credits in the bank are just about up for Moyes.
I do not care how out of form our strikers are, to play 1 of the bottom placed sides without 1 striker starting on the field is absolute madness.

Yak has declared he wants to leave and you cannot blame him.

The equation is a very simple one. Everton are either relegated or Moyes is sacked effective immediately. He has lost all ability and common sense as manager of the side

What do you expect him to do though. Hes got a squad that lacks goal scoring power, defensive pressure in the middle and geniune creativity in the middle of the park

He cant fix the problem without cash. Cash you dont really have.

Deep, deep shit now.

I think the answer unforunately lies in a defensive minded 4-2-3-1 with a heavy reliance on set pieces to score. Rodwell Fellaini should screen the back 4 with Pienaar, Billy. Cahill leaving Beckford/Anichebe up front on his own. Isnt ideal but its the best you can come up with atm. Goal should be to survive and rebuild in the summer

It's rubbish that it should come to that though with this squad. I do agree that we just need to consolidate from here, but really, this season has been absloute garbage from as good a squad as we've had during Moyse's reign.

Its just a very poorly balanced squad. You have spent HUGE money on buying players you dont need. Heitinga cost 7 mill and he was pretty much bought as a backup CB/out of position RB or DCM. 9 mill for Billy when you had Arteta and Cahill already was just insane. Sending Yobo out on loan when he would of commanded a 5 mill or so fee is also just stupid. Yakubu cost 9 mill and he didnt even make the squad last night. You spent 12 mill on Fellaini when you had Jack Rodwell ready to burst onto the scene.

I cant remember the last time Moyes actually bought players for positions that need filling, a creative/passing CM, a striker, a RB and pacey young versatile midfieilder.

THe club needs to sell/bring in 30-50 mill of funds and rebuild the squad because the one you have atm is only capable of playing low scoring hoofball

Sad as it is, I think you're absolutely right. When you look at it like that, Moysie does seem a lot less magic.

I do not agree the squad is only capable of playing hoofball, but the team is that low on confidence that is what happening. In essence we have the same squad that beat Man United and Chelsea in games last year with some brilliant passing and movement.

The problem with Moyes is he is a negative manager plain and simple. He plays not to lose and so many of our players have currently gone into their shells. Something drastically will need to change. Mikel Arteta is playing the most disgraceful football you will ever see. He has just completely utterly lost the plot since he signed his new contract and he needs to be dropped. You cannot keep playing someone who is offering so little.

Moyes has had various fallings out with players over the years and Yakubu is another one to add to the list. Yak declaring he wants to leave and rightfully so he should be looking for a chance elsewhere saw him left out of the squad against Stoke.

I have no problems with the signings of Heitinga and Billy. Heitinga was brilliant at CB last season and we still need depth in that area, as evidenced by Tony Hibbert playing at CB last week. If we are being brutally honest as well, despite Jagielka getting the callup for England he has been awful all season and Distin has been the one who has held that back 4 together. Everton were also desperate for a player like Billy and simply put he has been treated absolutely disgracefully this season.

We do not have money to spend and nothing will change. What we need to do is actually start playing players in their positions, and actually start picking the best team available and we might see a change in form. I know Fellaini is not the most popular player from other fans but he is an absolute class act. I am over Everton this year and all we can hope is to avoid relegation.

Whats your best 11 then Sheeds. Id have it atm as

Howard
Jagielka Heitinga Distin Baines
Rodwell Fellaini
Billy Cahill Pienaar
Yakubu

Problem with that is 3 of those players want to leave, 1 is at the Asian Cup and one is very well out of favor in Billy, so theres little surpise Moyes is ringing the changes to make that side happen.

I get the feeling Moyes would and wanted to sell quite a few players in recent times but has been afraid to do so fearing he wont get the cash for a replacement. Why you wouldnt accept 6 mill for Yakubu in the summer is beyond me. Why Yobo is out on loan is beyond me. Why Rodwell is on the bench is equally beyond me

The more I look at it the poorer Moyes looks really. His day to day tactics I dont have a problem with but the squad he has, he built himself so I guess hes got to take the blame when things go wrong

There is no doubt that Moyes seems to be losing the plot, but:

1) How are we going to fund his sacking?

2) Who are you going to replace him with?

Until there is a way to fund his removal and an adequate manager to replace him then there shouldn't be any pressure regarding his job.

^^ Solid points.

If we sack him, which personally I can't see happening, who the hell wants to come to the club with literally nothing to spend?

Secondly, we have a lot of players that could demand a transfer and move on and the thing that seems to be holding them there is Moyes. While he has been up and down, when Arsenal came after Jagielka in the summer he could have easily done and Jescott and carried on like a twat but he stayed. Something I attribute to the chance Moyes took on him and I guess a fair bit of loyalty to the manager. Likewise Rodwell, do you think he really would have penned a new deal with Man United hunting him if it weren't for Moyes?

This is the thing I hate about football, the fact it is always the managers fault. The simple fact is Moyes has nothing to work with, no ways to freshen the squad up or fix our weakness' because what we need (creative midfielder and a scoring striker) are too damn expensive. While we have a squad on paper that finished 5th/6th and really pushed top 4 the last few years most fans are missing the obvious that while we haven't added to our squad significantly others have. Man City, Tottenham and hell even Sunderland have spent. I am a big BK knocker so its no suprise that I want him out before Moyes and some Arabs with blank checks in.

Well I am hesitant to suggest that this could be the result that finally kick starts our season because of the sheer amount of false dawns there have been. I just wish we played against all sides the way we seem to against the title contendors.

New shirt about to be ordered

Good confidence builder for our team that, especially our final third. 4-4-2 has refreshed our team a lot. No going back to the 4-5-1 once Cahill gets back please Mr.Moyes. Beckford could be a very decent find for us if he finds his range, and that is a big if. Promising that he is getting himself into decent positions often enough though. Coleman and Baines are nothing short of immense this season.

Was a fair team Moyes put out on the park last night compared to the weakened teams other top flight clubs put out. I hope he does go for the FA Cup, would be good to win something, and I think we are a chance for sure if we find our mojo more consistenly.

Lets do the double over the reds, hoping that this isn't another false dawn.

I'm really liking the way that we are playing with the 4-4-2.

It will be a good test of Moyes bottle to see if he plays this system away at Liverpool.

And as a lot of lower league sides draw each other, we get Chelsea for the fourth round. Albeit at home. Hopefully they are still out of sorts by the time they arrive at Goodison.

Absolutely, but a simple 'if it isn't broke don't fix it' train of thought is all that is needed here. If we turn up, we should win. If we turn up, we can win anywhere, anytime. Just that has really has only happened four times this season so far (our very best anyway) .

Yakubu having medical with Leicester City where he will join on loan with a view to a permanent move. Idea being we take his 50k wages off books. We are then supposedly trying to sign (also on loan) a striker from Monaco whose name I cannot remember (sorry :p)

Tottenham enquired about a 1.5 mil move for Neville believe it or not! Even Redknapp admitted the interest. Moyes has said no.

Pienaar potentially going to Tottenham for 2 mil this window otherwise free in the summer. Rumour (99% sure it's horseshit) that Chelsea were preparing a 3 mil bid to get him now.

That's the D86 transfer news/rumour wrap :D

Now let's beat the redshite Sunday! COYB

The Monaco striker was Dimitri Mbokani i think? Anyway he can't get a work permit so that move doesn't look like happening.
