on the eve of or devistating lost to sydney the hawks board has suddenly turned in bay13 and this loss was not the only game this has happened after

so if you fit the following requirements put your name down

Haven't Slagged a player for no good reason

have looked at the positives of games

not blamed the individual but admitted when you win as a team you also loose as a team

and turned you focus to next week and just enjoying to see the premiers out on the park

Why arnt we allowed to blame players

you obviously were not watching the same game i was

Some of our players are not up to playing first grade

Morton & thorp

& as for stokes he has missed 3 easy shots on goal in the past 2 weeks

He needs to be able to kick them to stay in the team thats what he is there to do crumb and kick goals not spray them from right in front

Does that make you some superhero or something? We had few positives tonight and I knew we would require a monster effort to win after Campbell and Sewell pulled out, but we're 0-2 and playing catch up now. If you're content with 1 premiership that's fine but I want to see the club I love go back to back and that won't happen with Mitchell showing no leadership, especially with a team littered with so many 18 & 19 year olds. I stand by my opinion and I'm looking forward to next week so we can get back on track

Stokes missed 3 easy ones??? WTF??? One in the pocket on the run with a player on his tail from 35ish... bent it back and hit the post.
One again on the run from 45ish... player making contact as he kicked.
Dont know the 3rd one...
A young player who tackled, chased and harrassed in a forward line that in the second half had limited opportunities.

You'd think from the way you speak he was 20 out... set shot.

Nev.. I have ALWAYS loved the way Hodgey had gone about it. Love the fact he is the epitome of the term "leader of men".... but can we please just reserve judgement on Sam til we have a full awareness of what his physical limitations were tonight. Only last week he was leading from the front and busting open packs.

Im also not sure.. not sure if he spat the chew once he was clamped down on... and we all certainly remember his efforts v Ling.... but it was unusual for him to not be throwing himself in and burrowing hard....

umm one last week against the cats from right in front and the second one tonight he was virtually in front

I'm sorry but he needed to kick the two on the run

1 last week and the one this week

so if you knew that why are you slagging Mitchell

do you think he is a super hero or something??

2 games he has off days and you question his leadership

what a crock of s**t

he has been so consistent and such a good leader for some time now

heck this hawthorn outfit right now some would say was based around Mitchell

And no im not content with one cup 2008 was my first one after about 17 years of following the hawks from when i was born

but what i am content with is hawks loosing 2 games at the start of the season when are side is underdone

If he was unfit, that's fine, but I'm not talking about how well he played (I'm sure Kirk has shockers too) but that doesn't prevent him from being vocal, from being a leader in the huddle, and from keeping his head up. Mitch is our best midfielder no doubt, I love hi
as a footballer, I just want hiM to show why he's captain

Hey Johnny settledown and take some deep breathes and the next time you are thinking about posting something along the lines of the stokes remark. Remember that he is only a elevated rookie looking to find his place in a premeirship team. So go get some warm milk and cookies cause it's got to be ya bed time son!!!!

I dunno if you're p*ssed or what but if you're going to start this kind of thread then get your f***ing spelling sorted out.

It's lose not loose for starters.

Also there's a certain irony starting a thread having a pop at supporters for having a pop at the players.

Nothing wrong with our youngsters tonight. They tried hard and you can't expect guys with <10 games experience to do much

Ok sorry Mister oh no i better not spell anything wrong because this is BigGrammar forums not bigfooty right??

and no there is no irony

Now im not a fan of collingwood supporters but even after didak and shaw had there accident and lied they still stuck by them no matter what

and because our players a a crap couple of weeks we hang our heads in shame ??

F**k that im sticking by them no matter what

yes you can say your angry at them but back it up with some faith

You can stick by them, but not all of our list will be gun players. If it's constructive criticism and not hanging on a player for the sake of it, it's all fair game imo.

After checking in on the radio after the Storm game tonight that we were down by 30 odd points, I switched off. And I wont even watch the replay of this game, we are suffering from injuries, yes but we're not playing good enough footy even with thoe out it seems. (Again, I haven't seen our performance tonight)

and not just a rookie. A kid from Darwin who was in a meat freezer 2 years ago listening the draft on radio. A kid who missed last years GF by a jagged hammy. A kid who deserves all the support we possibly can give.

And Nev... agreed... Mitch is down in the "yap yap". He barely would bend over tonight to pick a kid up off the ground. But one thing I do know is that he is his own greatest critic and someone who reflects deeply on his performances. He will hear all the critisisms... he will (you can be "Dimma" sure of it) have his deficeincies highlighted. He WILL respond... I think. :)

Nev you and I and everybody else have no idea what was going on for Sam tonight.
Did he lead well last week in a loss that in real terms was about 8 goals?
Yes he did.
Sewell and gilham have the flu and apparently Sam had it too.
Playing with it when it is pointless to bring in another youngster is leadership in itself. Just because we cant see obvious stuff on the TV doesnt mean he is not leading in ways we cant see.
His leadership is always going to be under scrutiny with a player like Hodge in the side, but lets not go too hard after a loss that was always going to happen.

Well I'd disagree but opinions being like arseholes in that we've all got one & all that.

I haven't posted anything negative myself but I back the right of others to....within reason.

The point is that everyone here is on the same side, want the same thing.

People are going to come on here straight after a game & they're disappointed & they might vent a bit.

But by starting a thread that is essentially having a pop at fellow fans you can only create division which isn't doing anyone any favours.

And I would say that even if people criticise the performance of the team in general or individual players it doesn't actually mean that they're still not backing them to turn it around & won't get fully behind them next time they take to the pitch.

I just think it's an important point to remember that we're all on the same side.

Really well said. Footy isn't a one way street. You get excited when you win and you get angry and upset when you lose. It's the way things are

good post what you said is true and yes by the end of the day we are all hawks supporters and come on here for one thing to talk about hawk related issues

I was there tonight and Mitch had very little impact on the game. Most of the Hawks were beaten over the park. We played like shit and got drubbed for it. Hopefully it's a good wake up call for the guys. We have a lot of players out but the senior players didn't stand up either.

I love all of Hawthorn and will continue for years to come, but when they play shit, they play shit. It happens to everyone. No point beating around the bush about it!

All i can say is CARN HAWKERS!

I don't think you guys are seeing the upside in this. There is no doubt the boys are going to make the finals this year. There is little doubt they will make it into the top four.
Yet the overwhelming public is ignorant, as ever. They'll believe the hype of Sheahan and Walls kissing up to Geelong, but we all know what the Cats are really made of when it comes to standing up on the big games. No doubt our odds for winning the flag are going to stretch a bit.
Therefore, my fellow members (supporters), it's time to put some cash on our lads stealing our second consecutive flag!!
As the late Johnny Warren said "I told you so". :D
