Interested what people think who Collingwood could draft,

What are your thoughts who Pies could draft?

Like most Pies fans I'm hopeful we will get a quality midfielder. Someone like a Hartlett / Sidebottom / Blease / Swift etc... I don't have any personal knowledge of these players, just what I've read, but knowing Mick and his love for players who perform in finals I think Steele would be a 'steal' at pick 11 if we got him :)

Well seeing as u need midfielders im guessing Hine will pick a CHF,CHB and a forward pocket lol.

Ben Reed as ur last pick

Collingwood's selection may rely on where they see the future of John Anthony.

Anthony is there to be a defender, but showed a bit up forward. However, when you lose Clement, Wakelin and Presti you have to seriously rebuild.

Harry has shown not good enough to take Fevola or Franklin...but is very well suited to a ground level player. Maxwell is slightly built as is Goldsack. No doubt we need a big body. Trengrove is standing out as a chance.

But i seriously think we should be going an in and under mid at this pick. Perhaps it will rely on whether Sidebottom has been taken...but i reckon we'd be pretty interested in Blease and Swift as well.

Swift

Just looks the kind of pick Pies will take Kid could be a injury prone dud or he could be a freak who knows

Think 1st 2 picks will be Mids and the last 2 will be a Key defender (Project Player) and the other a Athletic Tall Project Player

I'll bit, Nick Heyne, Dan Hannebery, Taylor Gilchrist and Liam Shiels might be players the Pies would look at.

Have heard they may be after Shields with a later pick, also maybe Daniels. Or if they were to go after a tall athletic type like someone subjested maybe a Caleb Tiller?

Tiller could be another option but that tall athletic type could also be Gilchrist. Bottom-aged player, fairly versatile, very light on, has a bit of pace and a thumbing right boot. I've got Gilchrist and Shiels pretty much locked in for the Pies two picks in round 3 for my Phantom.

That sounds about spot on then! I didnt get to see any of Gilchrist this year in the TAC cup and from memory dont think he played any state footy?

Nah, don't think he did play state footy, he did play for Sandy and Caulfield Grammar and actually won the B&F for Caulfield ahead of Jack Ziebell. I think Gilchrist screams of a Hine pick.

uhhhm.. Medhurst, Didak, Thomas & Davis. IMO they have the best small forwards to choose from in the league.. Especially sinse (with the exception probably of Medhurst) they can all be rotated through the midfield.. why would they want another one?:confused:

I think he was being sarcastic.

Brad Dick. The ones you've named play more HFF rotating through Midfield.

I'm sure that bloke was being sarcastic.

Midfielder for mine from Hill, Sidebottom, Zeibell, Hartlett & Swift.

Swift the most likely to be available.

unlickley Sidebottom will be there at pick 11 i think Blease is your best hope

A bit of interesting information;

I was listening to the Goulburn Valley FL best and fairest count on the radio. Ashlea Mangan won the best and fairest for the A grade netballers. She has a brother, Brad, that plays with the Murray Bushrangers. She was asked if he was a chance of getting drafted, and replied that Collingwood and Geelong had both talked to him.

I think the pies will go for either Sidebottom-Swift-hannerberry or blease with pick 11.Whoever is available at that pick.
Pick 29 -will be someone like a Ash Smith if available opr Trengrove kp backman and best available with the other picks we have in the 40's.

But that is the thing about Hine's recruiting he actually recruits on best available at that pick regardless of our urgent needs.

Trengove will not Last to pick 29 - Wish he would but I highly Doubt. I have Trengove coming to us at Pick 11:thumbsu:
