Naomi Schiff, she is an ex-driver who raced professionally for about 10 years as well as a year in the W Series. She is also part of the Sky F1 broadcast team. Its not like she was just some random celeb that knows nothing about racing.

and even if she wasnt, she's just asking the same mundane questions that dc, herbert and co ask anyways. i like her voice

I genuinely feel for Lewis, he is a lot older then his teammate so his body wouldn't be handling the porpoising anywhere near as well.
Mercedes are going to let him snap in half before they raise the ride height at this rate, the arrogance of Toto etc to refuse to believe this car they have made doesn't work is astounding.

The FIA should specify a maximum level of porpoising (however that's measured), with teams allowed to set their ride height as low as they like, provided they meet the requirement.

Those who have mastered the porpoising can set their ride heights low, while those who can't are forced to set their ride height higher - taking a performance hit in the process.

It is an OH&S issue for the drivers - but it's one of the manufacturer's own doing. Ergo, it's up to the manufacturers to come up with car settings that meet the OH&S requirements.

I'm sick of hearing about it, to be honest. A driver says that and then 99% of people just go "well just change the ride height" as if the teams and drivers haven't thought of that.
They have thought of it... but they're unwilling to take the performance hit that goes along with it. It's a battle of performance vs comfort, and some teams (most notably MERC) are weighting the pendulum too far in favour of performance.

Mercedes are actually running lower than the other teams, their car is actually slammed bottoming out on the road. Now they ask their drivers to complain 24/7 to try and get the rules changed so every team has to raise the ride height and not just themselves :tearsofjoy:

It's total politics as usual.

The other complainers are Ricciardo and Sainz, both being trounced by their teammates and desperate.

Hardly. Daniel said this was the first time he has felt it and said now he knows how the others feel. He said nothing about changing the rules. Sainz has been saying it for months. Max also complained about the surface saying it was way too bumpy and the RB handles the bumps the best. Gasly has also come out and complained about the porpoising post Baku. Not to mention most of the grid have complained about it one time or another.

There were rumours that Canada could be the last race for Latifi though with Oscar to take over from Silverstone - so this adds more fuel to that fire

No way Williams drop a pay driver mid-season when they are going to finish last anyway. Along with the rumour is that Williams are going to switch to the Renault power unit and will take Piastri on loan from Alpine. If that is the case it will be from next year. The initial rumour was Canada would be Loltifi's last race but all the talk now is that he will last the season.

Yeah I agree that’s definitely the likely outcome, just Oscars post has kicked up rumour mill again

Very true.
Lewis is a company man toeing the company line.
As pointed out during the race on here, and by Brundle later, the issue is the car design. The car will drive without spine damaging porpoising, but it won’t be competitive.
Its now on Merc, and any other manufacturer, to adjust the car parameters to make it comfortable for their employees.
