Awesome view from Charles during the fight with Max. Also confirms the fact that Charles was letting Max pass him into turn one (he doesn't shift into 8th gear on the pit straight) so that he could come back and pass him into turn 4 with the second DRS zone. Cunning race smarts there

He did say post race that he knew Max would try to get him in turn 1 so he broke early and let him pass so he would have DRS coming up to turn 4.

These cars will be getting developed all year. I don't think anyone should be taking too much from the first race. Merc will sort their porpoising and power issues, McL will sort their brake problems, RB will work out their engine issues.

But damn it would be great if Ferrari and RB can maintain their dominance over Merc for the first few races at least. Having 2 poms at mercedes was shaping to be a season long brit fest (even more than it already is).

Speaking of which, does anyone know if there's any alternative coverage of the race that one can tune in to?
I’d like to tune into the Italian Sky F1……….

Dunno how true

Translation: F1 wants to continue with Zandvoort, but Spa and France are possibly on their way out. Spa's chances are slim but increased recently with the cancellation of the Russian GP.

Apparently in the linked article it says: besides FIA being a huge fan of Zandvoort, Spa and France are noted for being difficult to renegotiate in a season where Las Vegas, China and Qatar are coming. Spa in particular was considered 100% out for next season, but Sochi getting cancelled gave it a bit of a lifeline so that FOM is considering a potential contract renegotiation.

Dump Monaco before Spa.
Will never happen, $$$$ will always win in F1. It’s not a question of the quality or heritage of the track, just how much they are prepared to pay

Surely Liberty Media are not that short sighted that the would dump Spa for some short term gain.....
Even things like Drive to Survive are starting to lose their shine....

Yep, Perez was another one who is questioning whether they will bother dedicating time to it in the future as well.

Perez said he filmed extensively with Netflix in his native Mexico last year, but was disappointed to find that the time he devoted to the documentary was not represented in the final cut.

"Yeah, to be honest I did so much for them last year," he added. "This year, I am definitely not going to do as much. It's a lot of media [to commit to]! So if I can escape it and do less media then I will."

Just another precious F1 driver who spits the dummy when he doesn’t get the outcomes that he thinks are god given.
Doubt if DTS really care.

Baku for me; would love to get over there some day.
I've never got into the baku track personally I wanted too that castle part looked awesome. But that's the great thing about tracks we all find something different to like. Except sochi of course
