$$$ wins out, which has been a hallmark of the Liberty Era sadly.

Countries are willing to pay stupid money to host a GP, and get 3 people and 7 goats to attend.

Melbourne lost money on an event that over 400K people attended, that isn't right.

I’ve been to Melbourne a few times over the years and had different vantage points; but each time I come away thinking it’s better viewing on tv
F1 generally is, but I still love going to a race every now and then. I've been to Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Barcelona, Spa and Adelaide, loved them all.

It's a TV sport now (possibly always has been), I don't recall ever having the crowd impact upon my enjoyment of a race.

Spa is one of my favourite tracks (true for many of us I guess) but from those lucky enough to have attended the Spa circuit, the live experience is apparently pretty lousy. If I wanted to "experience" racing - the smells, the sounds - I'd support local events. I'm quite happy sitting in the comfort of my own home, with free food and drink, air conditioning and visibility over the whole track - these days with live timing and commentary that occasionally adds something relevant to the experience.

It's the track that matters to me - how good is the racing, is overtaking possible (but challenging); etc.

At least it's not cancelled.

I'm open to the thought of rotating circuits as there's too many options to fit on one calendar, but it's disappointing that one of the best circuits to watch is on the rotation list despite some of the dross already on the calendar.
This is the first step in dumping it. Once its on a rotation its only a matter of time until its out the door. And no doubt they will rotate it with another historic European track, so they can fit in another soulless track in some random middle eastern sandpit.

Di$graceful move by FOM.
