A wizard hat and Magic Cane wouldn't have been out of place for Alonso. Looks 3 generations older than anyone else.
Funny you should say that...

Alonso made his F1 debut on 4th March 2001, at the Australian GP - Lawson, Doohan, Hadjar, Bearman, Bortoletto, and Antonelli were all born after that date.

Alonso won his first F1 race on 24 August 2003, at the Hungarian GP - Hadjar, Bortoletto, Bearman & Antonelli were all born after that date.

Alonso won his first F1 World Championship in 2005 - Antonelli was born in 2006.

At least they were all around at the time of his last F1 GP win, which was in 2013!

This is wild. I always forget how long it's been. Really can't see him ever adding to that list again.

Given that a good F1 career lasts 10 years (yes, there are obviously drivers who last longer than that), Alonso's 24 year career effectively means that he is 2 generations of drivers older than those entering the sport now.

** Using "generations" as meaning career length, rather than reproductive generations.

I've said my bit on the netflix bit earlier so I'll leave it, but i do find it puzzling that it's been the most boring era of F1 in my time yet the series has never been more poulat.
Bc the newbies and social fans don’t know any better

Sure why not, but only as a second race in Australia. Melbourne has a contract until 2035 😁
Albert Park is a terrible circuit for overtaking and then they made it worse by taking out a hard braking zone. Miami is better.

What does that have to do with anything I said?

Its a dull lifeless track.

Therefore replace it with a good one about an hours flight away.

Will never happen, but we can dream.
Sure you are welcome to hold that opinion. What I said was the race is contracted to be in Melbourne until 2035. Adelaide is surely welcome to bid on it for 2036 or try to convince the FIA to add a second Australia race.

Not once did I comment on the relative quality of either race track.

it aint going anywhere. love the track and it's proximity to the city. as has been said the cars are too big for adelaide. sydney would have been the only viable alternative and they were done over.

Sydney dont get people going to their big events, wouldnt bother with it.

Plus the whole losing 100 million every year its held would be a bit of a dampener. Albert Park is as dull as most Tilke circuit.
