Liking our team. Few kids, few more on the bench. Rodri not starting, Doku back and KDB hopefully a few minutes.

Huddersfield supporters starting early with the wwywyws, maybe forgetting that our record score was against them when we were s**t.

Took me a minute.

Arsenal fans must be hoping they dont waste 3 seasons working out Havertz just isnt him like we did.

It’s largely shaping out as you and other Chelsea fans were posting prior. He’s very much a confidence and momentum player. Has excellent moments and frustrating moments, often within minutes of each other.

He generated excellent momentum during the last international break, starting as a left back for Germany and scoring for them. Brought that form into 4-5 matches for Arsenal, very effective in most of them and scored a number of key goals in the process. And I thought, there he is. Unlocked.

Then the one match suspension in the league has halted that momentum, he’s struggled to regain that form since (as has the entire team to be absolutely fair to him), and he’s been put up front due to yet another Jesus knee injury. It’s very much up and down.

£ for £, our worst signing ever. He is not a bad player, but for £60m you need so much more. He can play a role at 8, makes safe passes and doesn't give the ball away, but we already have that in the squad. What makes it worse is £34m was invested in Timber who has played 50 minutes. Almost £200m spent, yet the score of 1 for 3. Not Timber fault, and he will probably do the job he was bought for, just one year later, but Rice alone isn't enough to improve the squad, given we sold Xhaka and Partey is cooked, Rice is effectively covering those two.

Surely Pepe is still worse

Yeah he has that purple patch mid season each year(was a bit smaller this time)where you think its finally clicked, but it just doesnt last.

I think he'll be back in Germany soon enough.

Pepe was decent first year, very good second year. 8 and 16 goals respectively, without ever being a nailed on starter. Unfortunately Arteta wanted a different type on the right wing, brought in Willian and left Pepe to rot on the bench. We clearly overpaid, but did get some value. Unfortunately goldilocks Arteta just ostracises players who are not to his particularly specifications, tanks their value and Edu is forced to let them walk for free or with a pay-out.

Bamford's goal was great but don't think that's winning goal of the year. Was expecting something more special than that.
Sure it'll probably be the best goal scored in the FA Cup and the degree of difficulty was high but across the world, across all leagues there will be lots of better goals scored.

Very similar to Rodriguez’s World Cup goal which won the Puskas. Probably won’t win it but for a guy that can’t hit the side of a barn from the penalty spot it was pretty ridiculous.

Wasn't James' much further out?
