Really should have taken more kids over and given more experience, way too many older guys in the squad who hindered development.

Going forward, really need to drop donkeys like Duke etc for the WC qualifiers and international friendlies, and use the time between now and the next WC to give the kids time. There is talent coming through, and if Arnold won't back them then sack him. Don't want us at the next WC with Duke at 34 or 35 leading the line because we have stifled development.
Are we not playing that youth we have ( which I agree does look promising) due to the clubs they play in Europe have more of a say in it? And basically keeping them for the Olympic Games Qualification?

Yes. Iran are decent, but Japan should've won the tournament.

We blew it for sure, but Japan have a far more talented squad.
Goes to show Asia, particularly the Middle East, is freaking stubborn and tough to break down.
Out of the region, South Korea and Japan are probably the only ones that play attacking fluid football akin to Europe. Just doesn’t work as well v the counter attacking, defensive behind the ball teams.
Japan would rather play European teams every time. Always seem to go well in the World Cup v those types.

Can't blame Arnie for us not taking our chances and winning that match 3 or 4 nil.

Still pissed we blew that game late on. I'd rather out play them, **** up and lose than to lose getting outplayed. At least we had the chances and had the game. Got to work at getting better defensively so no stupid lapses cost us in the future.

Lol according to old mate on here we are just as talented as Korea hey Zidane98

Only a full nuffy would think on talent we even come close to Korea on the pitch.
Korea? Pfffft. They needed a 96th minute equaliser and we should have smacked them 3 or 4 nil. The mighty South Korea hey? Who got smashed 4-1 by Brazil in the world cup second round after being down 4-0 at half time. Lost to Ghana, drew with Uruguay and beat a Portuguese side in their final group game who was already qualified and almost certain to finish in top spot.

We fared better than them at the last world cup. We won two games and lost to the eventual champions by a solitary goal. What has South Korea achieved at The World Cup aside from their dodgy match fixing at the 2002 World Cup? Look up Byron Moreno who I'm
sure you know about before you come back with some ridiculous claims.

1954 - 1st round
1986 - 1st round
1994 - 1st round
1998 - 1st round ( 5-0 loss to Holland mind you )
2002 - Corrupt as hell
2006 - 1st round
2010 - 2nd round
2014 - 1st Round
2018 - 1st round
2022 - 2nd round

In order of appearance, here's their results.

2 losses from 2 games
1 draw 2 losses
2 draws and a loss
1 draw
3 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses in the dodgiest corruption of all time at a World Cup
1 win 1 draw 1 loss
1 win 2 losses 1 draw
1 draw
1 win 2 losses
1 win 1 draw 2 losses

South Korea have a total of 7 wins in total in their World Cup history and 2 of those were shambolic refereeing against Portugal and Italy and that drawn game against Spain which was won on penalties. Spain had 2 goals disallowed, just like Italy had one goal ruled out and Totti sent off for a dive which looked more like a penalty. 7 wins in their history? Another win was against Portugal in 2022 as mentioned Portugal went in top of the group and led that game 1-0. Almost certainly knew they had top spot it in the bag with goal difference etc. They won their first ever World Cup game which came in their 5th participation at the tournament.

7 wins out of 11 World Cups and we did better than them at The last world cup and granted we did botch this meeting. But we outplayed them. Fact. Yes better to win and advance than to outplay them and lose. We didn't have a full squad mind you. We also did beat them in the 2015 Asian Cup Final to win our maiden Crown.

You'd rather us lose so you can say '' I told you so '' than have us win and you be wrong. They got lucky. You were right in that we would lose props to you there. But stop with your anti Socceroos hate campaign and self absorbed driven agenda.

This is a weird little rant

Probably wouldn’t have needed that many. At 2-0, Korea opens up play. Just go on the counter.

Frustrating that Australia missed the semi.
We didn't need the 5 at the back 1-0 Korea were already attacking. We would have doubled down on defensive

Iran at 8/1 is insane odds. Wished would’ve jumped on that. Always a solid defensive hard knack team

Yeah spewing I missed it.

Qatar at 16/1 is a good shout considering corruption. Although it appears they have scaled back on their dodgy ring ins.
