Been an enjoyable thread, love the chat about Panos. Fair to say he's got everyone thinking about him, hope the MC are too. But with no Willi game, it's hard to see them leaving Jones out.

Back on topic, it's been mentioned that this game looms as similar to the Collingwood game. I think it's true. We just have to take our chances.

The Cats might be a little uncertain about themselves if we can get some score board on, but if we fail to do it if or when we get the chance, they, like the Pies, WCE and Adelaide will eventually come and make us pay.

Cooney will be a really big in if he comes back. Mentioned also, that he's been forgotten and he has. I reckon the Cats might forget him too, while they focus on Boyd and Griffen.

Either way it looms as a great test for our SOGGYS (sons of guns) and our other youngsters.

The pressure is on the Cats, as much as I want to win....but if they lose........

Panos is an intriguing side story in the overall season.
He was, IIRC, a Vic u18 rep

Good post once you got over this hurdle.

Panos was Rostrevor College/Norwood SANFL/SA.

Not victorian.

The boys will be wearing a Hall of Fame commemorative guernsey this week which I think is the same design as what they wore for the same event a few years back, going by the Bulldogs website (https://shopdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=Product&ProductID=13809&OrgID=1679). For those of you old enough to remember what we regularly wore back in 2011, it's almost the same as that vintage design but with the HOF logo rather than robo-dog.

Having said that, its possible that the website is just using an old image and the design may have been updated.

There is a mix, I'd ignore footsore's opinion, his own supporters have disowned him

I don't make a habit of posting on opposition boards, but I do like to read the match reviews and this one was a particularly balanced piece.
I expect the Dogies to bring there A game,Minson plays his best footy against us,word has it Scarlo won't get up for this week,I'd give you every chance if thing had been equal, tuff assignment though coming back from Darwin and a 6 day break,I wouldn't have been happy if it had been us,any way here's hoping for a good contest and no injury's.
Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Redpath is travelling very well, sure he is a work in progress but his progress has been teffific. It seems to me that a lot of people on this sight look at goals kicked as to how well you are going, Jack is a really good team man and as an example gave away or assisted in 5 goals on Sunday. It does not seem that long ago to me that Rohan Smith was standing next to him in a pre season game at Whitten Oval explaining to him when to lead and where to lead, he has a way to go but has terrific potential. I believe our recruitment of Redpath, Jong, Greenwood and Johanissen has been outstanding and all will all be elevated to our Bulldog senior list; that is a great effort from our recuiting staff.

Agree, Redpath just needs time has a lot of potential. Not seen a lot of Greenwood just yet he's been injured a lot this year but I did see him pre season pre injury and he looked likely. He looked pretty neat by foot on Sunday. I think our recruiters have been very good at picking the late draft picks and rookies in recent years. These guys just need a little more time to develop but as we know can be just as good as top 10 pick eventually, if you get it right.

I have heard not one peep about Greenwood other than he was injured early.

What is the Greenwood story?

Merging posts fail by me :( OP is now done by MC Extra Dollop. My bad Sentinel, sorry

The merge goes by timestamp. The earliest thread will always be the OP.

Just kidding, couldn't care less. But as a warning, can one of the other mods please card him for me? Cheers.

Normal mods can't infract each other.

I can issue cards to mere Moderators though.

Dalhaus lost his zip, or just being given defensive attention?

From the GWS match he's been getting a LOT more attention. He may have only played about 20 matches but it was already obvious to other clubs that he was actually one of the most damaging players in the team becuase of his creativity and ability to burst from congestion and set up play. He had Power and Toovey back to back weeks from that point. He's still getting heavily marked but with guys like Sherman, Griffen hitting top form and Gia back in form it's giving the side a lot more match-up options and Dahl is Dahl and he works his backside off for the team, in fact has probably even worked harder since he's been getting more defensive body pressure, that's why he looks (and probably is) a little fatigued. Still the break is only a few weeks away. To nab a player like that from the rookie draft is unbelievable. Similar with Harbrow a few years back. Recruiters sometimes dwell too much on the negatives rather than the positives. Both players are strong for their diminutive stature, have an electrifying burst of speed and cool head under pressure, and both adapted so quickly to the pace of senior footy.

dahlhaus is fine, copped alot of attenion since the Melbourne game and rightly so if you are involved in 15 scoring shots of the teams 23, those are better than Ablett numbers. I personally think he was good in all game since anyway especially the game where he was tagged by power, still finds a way to contribute and be in everything.
