Even if trolls come here it's far easier to just let it go without stepping down to their level.

It WONT remain (witness Yze's thread) for long. Neither will replies of "yea well you suck **** too" that just go back and forth.

Yze's now banned from here. Bentleigh's banned, see the pattern.

What I'd hope is that opposition supporters like Rick James or to a lesser extent, oooze can come on here, put up a post where they disagree and then leave it at that. Not cheap shots or insults, just a differing viewpoint. That's always acceptable.

So learn to leave the obvious trolls alone, it's not worth the bother or time to respond.

for most clubs the supporters are ok , however , in the week leading up to our game against the dees and in most weeks in general , melbourne supporters bag our team and club to no end .. i got sick of it and took great pleasure in getting on their board and giving them some stick after we wiped the floor with them ..
normally i wouldnt do that but they deserved it ..
we now own them and they have no bagging rights towards us ..

I only posted on the melbourne board because of what Yze_magic said in his thread on this board. From now on I think Hawk fans should launch pre emtive strikes on other team boards in an attempt to hinder the other sides trolling.

Hecks...I know your melon has gone soft from standing outside in the weather as you busk day and night, but please explain why you feel a pre emptive strike on other teams' boards might in any way hinder the other sides trolling. It seems more likely to resemble pouring gasoline on a fire to put it out.

Any trolling you do elsewhere hecks only makes it easier for the likes of Yze to say "they started it".

The sticky at the top of this forum is there for a reason. There's little trolling that goes on here, it's going to stay that way.

I'd really like to know if most Hawks supporters on here would like to see the board head that way, I'd be hopeful that most wouldn't.

Nope. I enjoy having the occassional troll and stirring people on the main board but that's where it ends.

When I go onto opposition boards it's purely to talk about football. Anything else just encourages more Bentleighs and more Yze_Magics over to this board.

What makes a footy club great its the feral supporters.
Would Collingwood Essendon or Crows be anything without its feral supporter base .
We need to encourage the feral supporter not tear him(or her) down they are the heart and soul of any great club.
Look at Melbore,Freego, Wegirls too many civilized supporters.
I dont mean as feral as Richmond ( they eat there own),but a good decent level of out and out feral behaviour would be nice.
Maybe we could create a section for them like the old bay 13 ,have social groups allow them to breed and create more feral Hawk supporters.
Families have other priorities ,Ferals there passionate.
I know we have nurtured the family club but like all good families in there should lie a good feral or two.
I think we should take a line from a famous Hawthorn Coach, "dont think do!'

I don't mind a bit of ****stirring, particularly by supporters of a team we just pumped. I give it a fair crack on the main board.

We do however need to be careful this board doesn't turn into a place that Hawks supporters can't have a chat - we seem to have a few newcomers lately and I'd hate to see them scared off - at the same time I wouldn't want it to turn into HHQ where it's all sugar and spice and fantasy land.

I think Hawk Dork is talking about an actual place where they could come into close physical contact and attempt chatty conversation and perhaps even (errrrrrrr!) breed.
It might go something like this -
"g'day! c'arn thuh hawks. can i buy ya some grog? what's yer sign? Have ya seen a set of teeth lying around anywhere? wanna do it on the floor in the lu?"

Dont worry Gren I am not encouriging ferals to learn to type or spell or anything they can just use facial expressions,hand gestures you know trditional methods off communication.

But to be serious I mean ilogical passion, loyality,devotion.One eyed supporters like Collingwood Essendon and Crows.

I dont know where to allow them to congregate but they should be encouraged as they are true football GOLD
Maybe a club within the club with recognizable badges so people can avoid them or mingle as desired.

Grendel, happy with how this board has been moderated, and agree with what is outlined in your sticky. The place for trolling is on the main board and the team boards are for decent football stuff. Trolling attracts more trolling and would ruin the purpose of having a team board.
