My team-mate has a fake Geelong 2013 clash jumper and wears it to training, I rib him about it but he is one of those guys that doesn't really mind. He got it in Bali, the design and sponsors are all correct, even the ISC neck to a certain extent, but the positioning is a little off and the material is really weird, looks like thin satin.
I never understood why people would want to buy, and wear fakes, even the kmart versions are terrible, and they are legal!! I guess some people don't care. The amount of sekem/kmart ones I see at eagles games is crazy!!
Aren't the Sekem ones the old school wooly ones? What are wrong with those? They are vintage!
Yeah sekem made them in the early 90's before puma etc took over and they all moved to the polyester types we have now. But I think Sekem still produce the ones you see at kmart, big w, etc, you know the ones with no sponsores, just the AFL logo and the team logo on the other side? Nothing wrong with the old school ones though

There is no excuse for "AFL team wear" or whatever they call the minimal effort put in on the K-Mart ones. People might say they are broke or have lots of kids that all want a jumper and yes, it gets pricey if you buy all new stuff. My answer is: eBay. I have found some stellar second hand (or even new) sports gear for a variety of my teams at a reasonable price. The other option is end of season sales. have hand signed (sometimes match worn) gear from a few AFL players bought for cheap because they change the designs year after year and need to get rid of the "old" stuff.
