At this stage i think i am looking for value rather than splurging. I went Cox and Simmonds last eyar and they both let me down. Thinking maybe Kruzer and Tippet at this stage.
But will he get back in time for round 1? Didn't he do his injury in Round 5 or something?
Yeah i think i will pass on Hille. Think he did it in round 5, so i would think he would have a modified pre season, ruckmen are a good chance to re-do ACL i think (hmac wasn't ACL) and i think even if he gets back, he wont have the TOG like he use to. It will be a Hille/Ryder combo instead of just Hille.

I found the problem, i was using firefox and it was not working but going to internet explorer fixed it
Every player who got a discount last year played 5 games or less in 2008.
thanks for that, i thought it was done by missing 5 or more games and not playing again for the season. Makes a bit more sense to why other players i thought would have been discounted have not

It's not completely clear cut but a couple of things were.
Every player who averaged over 60 in 2008 and played 5 games or less got a 20% discount. Different discounts if they missed the whole season. Every defender who averaged over 50 and played 5 games or less in 2008 got a 20% discount.
Between 50 and 60 average is subjective, could go either way but there seems to be a link with playing 1-2 games and getting a discount here.
Out of 60 players to play 5 games or less and average under 50, only 2 got a discount (Otten 10% and Schmidt 30%). So basically no chance.
Burger averaged under 50 so highly unlikely to get a discount.
VS can always change their rules but it's a good starting point.

Good to see you anticipate 3 North Adelaide players being drafted: Jim Craig, Tapscott and Jessie O'Brien. To add to Lewis Johnston, Rhys O'Keeffe and Phil Davis last year.
Lots of injury concerns - was probably a bit generous in leaving sandilands (soft tissue hamstring injuries late in the season), boomer (ageing and had injury problems in 2009) and medhurst out of the bolded players.
Durability is king - all of your premiums should have upside (ive seen that youve gone for that a bit), but i think durability can save you trades (even though seemingly "durable" players still go down, they are less likely then the knights/walker/chapman types).

BTW Craig looked very very good in the ruck in his first league game yesterday (Better than Cain Ackland actually). Tapscott is very well build for his age (similarly to Rich), has an awesome bump technique, but he isn't a big ball winner. O'Brien is a bit thin, but has good skills. I think Craig and Tapscott could play games next year.
This year it is all about value for me, had too many "guns" in my team last year that was a bit of wated money.

Changes every year and what works one year might not work the next. Value is good but there is no reason why premiums and rookies can't represent value.
This year is going to be interesting I think because there is some genuine scoring talent in the smalls for the draft but not much depth. Will people having to pay the extra 50-60k for both bench rookies? Teams could well have significantly less premiums next year merely because their benches are more expensive. Others might have more premiums and less effective cash cows or slower developing cash cows.
