Re: Farrer League

Wagga Swans have no senior team so if i was an offical at either Marrar or Rivcoll id try and gain some sort of alliance , so that the wagga swans under16s have a place to go and Marrar or Rivcoll fill thier under 17 squads.

Re: Farrer League

thanx for the idea muscles, i'm sure no one at marrar has thought of that idea. i'll be sure to let the hierachy know before rivcoll think of the same idea.

I think you will find Moist that the Wagga Swans have spoken to Marrar over the last few years and Iam nearly sure they spoke to Rivcol as well.

When those talk fell down then Eastern Hawks were approached by the Swans to be there senior club to look after the kids coming out of the u16's but that year the Swans committee of that time done the dirty and send them to mixed clubs so truthfully I dont think the Swans know what they want for the kids when the finish in the Juniors.

But in saying that I would like to think that the Swans committee now would consider the possibility of Marrar and them having a connecting as it is a good Idea for now.

Re: Farrer League

I think you'll find Moist was being sarcastic. I think Marrer has talked to the Swans, as I know Rivcoll already have.

fair enough just giving some information of what I know about the swans looking for a senior club over the last 5 years

Re: Farrer League

Hey Mangobus if your talking about Nathan Mcdonald he signed a few weeks back for the Tigers. so your nearly as fast as you run oh sorry or the Big 105kg Supercoach at Marrar Deano.

Not far wrong about the pace these days, my knees aren't quite at your stage yet but if I try push on next year I might need to borrow that trendy brace you got around in!!!

I happened to train with oncewasn't once and after the first warm up lap he had to be told the Trendy Knee Brace was actually on the wrong leg.:thumbsu:

Re: Farrer League

I hear he is on the move to the hume league
Will he leave much of a hole at gullie?

quality player but a team that were so far out in front of the others and with the depth they have they will find some1 to replace him!!

any1 know if shultzy is takin any1 with him pigs? looks to be a tough year again for pigs if he isnt!

Re: Farrer League

Gully couldn't hack it in the RFL last time they were in, what makes them think it's going to be any easier? I hope they don't end up throwing the left over Farrer league clubs in the RFL as it would ruin a good league.

I'd hate to be an AFL administrator, whatever they suggest they're going to be criticized. As I probably will after this.

Riverina re-organisation, suggestion from a forum newbie - to be on a voluntary basis, only if the clubs all agreed:

Western Riverina League
Griffith
Leeton
Coleambally
Narrandera
Northern Harvesters (merged Nthn Jets & Temora)
GGGM
Coolamon
7 teams, bye round, play two full rounds

Eastern Riverina League
Wagga Tigers
Turvey Park
East Wagga
North River Crays (merged Nth Wagga & Rivcoll & Marrar)
CollingullieAK
TRYC
MCU-Eastlakes
7 teams, bye round, play two full rounds

All-Riverina FINALS
Teams finishing first and second from the Western and Eastern leagues play an elimination round robin. Finals matches at Narrandera.
If lower finishing teams want more football, you could hold a shield finals competition for teams finishing third and fourth in their respective leagues.

This setup cuts down on the travelling, which I think is important, but still exposes western Riverina clubs to the highest level. Some teams are proposed to be merged, but realistically, looking ahead isn't it worth them considering this? Standardize on a juniors format, U17s or whatever, and play on the same day as the seniors.

No good including Hume league clubs, they all look towards Albury.

Re: Farrer League

travelling past bolten park today and noticed a fleet footed, nimble matt malone slogging it out in pre-season training for marrar...look out farrar league, fumbles has lost atleast 8 stone and is looking fitter than ever! opposition fullbacks should be put on full alert!!
