12. LOUIS KELLAWAY
(Sturt)
Midfielder/forward, 16, 182cm, 66kg

Son of former Richmond star and Crows physio Duncan Kellaway, Louis isn’t particularly quick but he’s a smart footballer who sees the game well and makes very good decisions with ball in hand. Plays with composure and is a fine link player. Showed he could hit the scoreboard with two goals from his 26 disposals in a standout performance against the Eagles in Round 16, where he also had six clearances and laid six tackles, illustrating his strong all-round game.

Listening to SEN interview with Greg Swan , talking about Academy’s etc he mentioned that Geelong have 25 !!! Father Sons coming through in the next 5 or so years.
Ok so maybe not every one of those kids will get picked up, but what an incredible leg up for one of the oldest teams in the competition.
In the next 5 years? That’s nuts. Do we even have 25 father-son prospects under the age of 18 in total?

It’s unbloodybelievable, but unless Swan is telling Porkies, it’s true. 25 in the next 5-6 years.
Don’t know what percentage are likely to get picked up, but knowing their luck they’ll snag some good ones

Half the problem with Geelong having all these F-S prospect is that they all want to get to Geelong as well. If the Cats overlook them but they start showing signs you just know they'll put their hand up for a trade after two or three years and if it takes a few years longer then they can basically walk as RFA.

Father son thing is the most archaiac rule in footy.
Since when should a son get to play for the same club as his dad? It's madness.
Having said that, the rules will all be changed for 2025 when Kellaway is eligible.

Charlie Richardson - grandson of KB

Richo Richo man ... i want to be a Richo man. Iconic last name too
If Charlie Richardson was the grandson of some Gold Coast fan, the AFL would bring in a grandfather/grandson rule
