Need all the club presidents to do a dummy spit

For some reason it doesn't work that way.

Reckon it will come.

But if allowing clubs to non-Northern clubs to pick up good players they develop might lead to a change in the pipeline of good young players who are linked to a club.

Reckon there will be a change when GC start being a genuine contender.

until then the AFL will want to feed their new borns with extra players for cheap.
If success was the measurement to change or remove northern academy entitlements, then the swans would have no rights. They are getting a free ride also.

Just had an update on Nick Daffy’s son.

Made the main falcons under 18 squad as an under age player which is very good and came 2nd in a 2km time trial.

Positive signs!
all the falcons campaigners who are on the scats payroll will try to sabotage him

IMHO Swans are riding off GWS and GC. Same with Brisbane. The AFL is a strange beast.

Having said that the clubs run the Academies there. The Academies are working really well. The AFL might also just know that they can't run stuff, especially developing elite talent. So they might just be gun shy of changing the set up until NSW and Qld.

In recent history the AFL stopped Vic/SA/WA clubs taking the good young talent they develop. So guess what, bugger all developed from these Academies. Maybe the AFL has learnt o_O from this.

Stumbled on this on Tiktok. Dunno how fair dinkum but says Trent Cotchins son has chosen soccer over AFL 🤢🤮

Wouldn’t say so… yet

Doubt he’s even old enough for Aus kick but goes to show how far the AFL is promoting the game to kids if they don’t have programs for kids Parker’s age

For Auskick you need to be turning five to join. For soccer I think there’s little kickers which starts a bit earlier than that or a bunch of different ‘academies’ that would care a whole lot more about your money then your kids age

Jack Leys averaged 28 disposals in the Unders 16's last season, pretty good going and hopefully he keeps putting up those numbers. Going to try make a video on him soon.

The other player I was looking up is Charles Bowden, son of Joel, playing in the NT.

In the 23/24 season he seemed to have a pretty solid year featuring in the best's 5-6 times but I can only see that he has played 1 game in the 24/25 season back in October.

Anyone know much else about Charles?
Idea for a show - Father-son February in focus.

Chat about Kellaway, Leys, Bowden, as well as Broderick, Bower, Scott and Frangalas.

Sounds exciting. But the way the QLD academy’s are spitting out top kids , one good kid in ours over every ten years doesn’t really compare.
It wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a backlash and the system it turned on its head around tassy intro.
I think it’s a good thing. If we want to develop the game in QLD then the Queensland sides need to have a decent numbers of Queenslanders in them otherwise they are just Victorian club playing in QLD.
