Let's hope Burgo can work some magic on his shape. The talent is there. At this stage Wakelin might be the same and Ben might not even get to the AFL list
Imagine getting him as a rookie after his U16 year had him touted as a possible top 10 player this year. Then if he 'miraculously' trims up and is much fitter by end of preseason and dominates the SANFL as a forward next year and even gets a game or 3 in the seniors, questions will be asked of us by the VFL media..'did you deliberately keep him out of shape to tank his draft value ra ra ra'Let's hope Burgo can work some magic on his shape. Love to see him turn up at playing weight when the draft happens
You do realise Adelaide employ a full time dietician and no doubt Tyler would have been given both a diet plan and a fitness plan by Burgo leading into the pre-season training knowing he was about to become an AFL listed player. The big problem is it's up to the individual to put in the unsupervised training etc. Hopefully Tex takes him under his wing especially prior to preseason training. Many things could have influenced this year. Growth spurt, hitting the weights slowing him down, attitude. His dad rocked up fat to pre season training too one year. So maybe the diet in the Welsh household isnt the best.
I think all that's true, though there's still limits with the level of contact we can have with a non-listed player. You do realise Adelaide employ a full time dietician and no doubt Tyler would have been given both a diet plan and a fitness plan by Burgo leading into the pre-season training knowing he was about to become an AFL listed player.
