Right about now is when i feel we should be seeing some sons of former greats of the club, and i guess we have at least one in Kennedy, i believe Langford's son is coming into our side soon . . . Travis Tuck of course . . . anybody else we know of? Could be a way to get quality picks over the next 5 years.

I dont know about Kennedy, but from what I knew, Travis Tuck was a 3rd round prospect regardless of the father son pick so we got him for what his worth. Which it would be safe to say he is starting to exceed 3rd round expectations.
 
Greg Dear's son is playing for the Lakes Entrance 1st's this weekend if you want a drive on Saturday. His uncle Paul was down watching him last weekend.
 
I remember talking to Greg Boxall in Canberra before the Kennedy draft and he thought that 3rd round was about right for Kennedy as well. I'm pretty sure he described him as being ready built to play senior footy but you would see the best of him for 3 or 4 years until he develops a big enough engine. He likened him to Shannon Hurn from the previous draft.

You may be aware that Buckenara Jnr and Dipper Jnr had stints at Box Hill as well.

Haven't done that well with f/s. A few didn't have boys (Lethal) and a few had kids that weren't good enough (Knights, Dipper, Crimmins etc).

I'm hoping to see Ayers and Brereton running around again :thumbsu:.
 
i've heard 2nd hand that will langford is good enough to make it, and that his younger brother is even better. no wonder the swanettes were looking at them.

looking forward to langford's kids, they're meant to be alright. I think Travis Tuck is very good value, and Kennedy is a massive midfielder, if he can improve his kicking he'll be great, he's a very good handball though.
 
It would be fair to say that Ben Kennedy will be looked at closely this draft, but the hype about him has not been overly strong so far on this forum.

Anybody with inside info know how he has been performing?
 
Anyone know anything about Jake Platten? Being out of SA so long I barely hear anything that goes on down there.

Looking forward to the day I see another J.Platten in the Brown and Gold!
 
I go to carey in year 11 and in my year there are two possible hawks father sons
Brent Wallace (son of Terry) and Lauchie Salmon (son of Paul)
Both play TAC and are in Carey 1sts
From what ive heard and seen theyre not quite up to the mark atm but a year and halfs a long time in footy!

Lauchie Salmon played for Beverley Hills with my cousins, this was a couple of years ago so I don't know how his physical stature is travelling. Hopefully he's a BIG FISH and can groom as a backman!

YES Lauchie is the biggest guy at our school about 197cm with a very solid frame. And Brent Wallace takes so much shit about his dad its not funny

Im not in the 1s (2nds) but apparently Fish is a little bit of a pussy and has some arogance issues but he is an exellent tap ruckman. Like one of my best mates is 2nd ruck and Fish beats him every time. Paul Salmon is coach of Carey 1sts by the way
