Coopers and James Squire (would you throw Matilda Bay/Little Creatures in there?) support your point, but for the most part, just like mainstream music, mainstream beer (read: Tooheys & CUB/Vic) is tasteless swill.

I agree that there are quite a few mainstream beers that are quite ordinary. However some have the attitude simply because it is mainstream.

It all comes down to taste an opinion. Like any food it changes from person to person. Not everyone will like the same beer just as not everyone likes beer. So I don't see the point in shooting someone down for liking a particular beer.

FWIW I don't mind Extra Dry (wouldn't go near any other form of Thooheys). CUB is ok if there is nothing else available. I guess they are the only Mainsteam beers I drink.

Thats where you've lost all credibility. Any argument you give now will be void imo.

There are still critical criterea to rate a beer on. Much like the music and movie industries.

Opinion plays a minor role.
 
But out of all the mainstream beers TED's have to be one of the worst. A good example of a good very mainstream beer that imo is underrated is Swan Draught.
 
I haven’t read this thread in its entirety so i do apologize if it’s been mentioned but last night I had a Bee Sting - Honey Wheat Beer from Barossa Valley Brewing.

It was a very nice beer to drink. Not as good as James Squires, James Boags or Coopers Pale Ale but will buy it again.

At least if you're going to drink tasteless girly beer, drink Sol which is exactly the same but half the price. Oh and don't forget to shove the watermelon, pineapple or other assorted fruit that you metro douches are putting in your beer these days.
 
Corona > TED's


Bopth are pretty bloody bad and way overpriced though.

Carlton Cold when I'm on the cheap, Boags when I have some money to spend.
 
I dont drink either, if you have to add a citrus to a beer then it's not worth drinking but TED's are pure shit.
