When bidding on players in UT how come they have different formations next to them? So if my team is a 4-4-2 and I say want Gareth Bale. Should I be bidding on Bale that plays in a 4-4-2?

It all comes down to chemistry.

If you're aiming for 100% chemistry (solid green lines, green boot and green formation) then yes you should however in my opinion it doesn't really matter if you play the occasional player out of position or that has the wrong formation.

Some formations force a player's price up.

A 4-4-2 Bale will be more expensive than a 3-4-1-2 most of the time.

Of course. That is their preferred formation. Most players try to get 4-4-2 so they are much higher in demand. Getting players that have their preferred formation = higher chemistry. Wasn't sure if that's what you were asking. Good luck getting Bale, probably costs a heap!

I'm finding it hard to win matches mostly because I come up against very good teams or there is so much lag.

I'm just playing single online games for UT points right now.

you can buy consumables that can change the formation preference of a card, theyre expensive though.

i just go for bargains with any formation i can add to my team, then change the preference and i have my perfect player

This sucks. So much lag in UT games. I played a friend in UT which was good but you get no coins when you do that!

lag ruins online most of the time in FIFA. It becomes a mucher tougher game because you have to adapt the way you play based on the lag. You have to preempt what you are going to do like 2 seconds before you get the ball.
