And then after that it's just whatever collective group of spanners we need to face in the finals.

Feel free to stay in Season 34 guys, certainly helps solve our fixture problem. Thanks!
Pretty appealing case you've put forward to not have to interact with yourself.

Ok everyone,

Apologies for the delay, but real life has been way too real these last few months.

I'm at work so don't have time for any fancy shooping, but let's get to The Fighting Furies Best and Fairest for Season 34!

Three awards will be presented tonight.

The prestigious PHX Award recognises the poster of the season.

The Rfctigerarmy Award recognises the person who made the biggest impact on the Qooty field.

The Nuffers Award recognises the rookie who made the biggest impact from our Season 34 crop of kananooks, Nixi, krided, Chronz, Silky23, JyeDye.

A few words before we begin in earnest.

Season 34 saw the Furies commence on the backfoot. The majority of our Season 33 LG were banned prior to the start of the season, meaning that Pickitt, NaturalDisaster, omgfridge and myself needed to assume responsibilities we were not anticipating. We had to navigate significant difficulties in Season 34, and while we may not have had the results on the Qooty field we would have liked, the fact that the season was not completely derailed is a testament to how hard my colleagues in the LG worked.

Let's take a moment to thank TJASTA, IMissFrosty, and Kdavva for their time with the Fighting Furies, and hope they are able to return to us soon. They have all been sorely missed, and have been absolutely massive for not just this club, but the Sweet FA as a whole.

Round 2: Furies (114) d Bears (75).

The season commenced with our erstwhile colleague kananooks finding an opposition that he could truly gel with. The love between our favourite poster with a cat avatar and his favourite rivals continued throughout the rest of the season, with Nooks making plenty of time to drop into Bears threads and say hello. A fellow debutant in JyeDye stamped his credentials very early.

PHX: JyeDye 6 votes, NaturalDisaster 6 votes, Pickitt 5 votes, Dominic03 2 votes, omgfridge 2 votes, James Colorado 2 votes, Toump Ass 1 vote.

Rfctigerarmy: NaturalDisaster 9 votes, James Colorado 7 votes, crazywildhorse 6 votes, Dominic03 1 vote, Scythe94 1 vote.

Round 6: Wonders (114) d Furies (62).

The current incarnations of both clubs have had a certain amount of friction, though this was a week enjoyed by both sides. While we may have lost on the Qooty field, we had a bigger win in having the inimitable Cadsky join us during this round :)

PHX: JyeDye 9 votes, kananooks 6 votes, Cadsky 2 votes, Pickitt 1 vote.

Rfctigerarmy: Dominic03 10 votes, crazywildhorse 9 votes, tugga 2 votes, Silky23 2 votes, NaturalDisaster 1 vote.

We'll just take a small break in proceedings to honour one of our departing players.

tugga made a long-awaited return in Season 34 to fill the Full Forward position, and is moving on once again to enjoy a well-earned retirement. 166 games. 262 goals. All of them with the Fighting Furies.

tugga was the Fred Medallist for Season 10, and was a premiership player in seasons 8 & 10.

A Furies legend, and everyone who played with him in Season 34 is better for the experience.

Everyone, please take a moment to raise your glass to a true titan in our midst.

Round 7: Swamprats (96) d Furies (92).

A tight encounter all the way, with an utterly nail-biting finish. Unfortunately we weren't able to get the job done, but there is one Furies poster who was already taking the Sweet FA by storm, and kept that up this round.

PHX: JyeDye 9 votes, kananooks 5 votes, Cadsky 2 votes, NaturalDisaster 2 votes.

Rfctigerarmy: JyeDye 12 votes, crazywildhorse 6 votes, Dominic03 2 votes, James Colorado 2 votes, NaturalDisaster 2 votes.

Round 8: Phoenix (113) d Furies (105).

Another tight game, and even though we were left wanting at the final siren, the Fighting Furies had started showing the Sweet FA that they do not give in easily and will fight and scrap to the end. Our boom mid-season recruit stood tall during this week.

PHX: Cadsky 9 votes, JyeDye 4 votes, kananooks 2 votes, James Colorado 2 votes, omgfridge 1 vote.

Rfctigerarmy: James Colorado 9 votes, Cadsky 9 votes, Pickitt 4 votes, omgfridge 1 vote, crazywildhorse 1 vote.

We'll take another short break in proceedings to farewell another champion of the club.

Bastyy played his 100th game this season, all at the Furies, finishing on 104 games and 99 goals. A poster who brought enormous wit, mental dexterity, and leadership to the club during his time here, not to mention being a significant influence on me as a new Qooty player, he will be missed.

Everyone, please once again raise a glass to farewell a person who has had a massive impact upon our club. Bastyy, all the best with retirement though our door is always open. If you ever want to return there is a spot, and we will always welcome you at the Hippodrome even if you just want to come in and say hello.
