Speculation surrounds the death of Tarzan's chimpanzee Cheetah
A Florida animal sanctuary says Cheetah, the chimpanzee sidekick in the Tarzan movies of the early 1930s, died aged 80, on December 24.

At the animal sanctuary, Cheetah was outgoing, loved finger painting and liked to see people laugh, Ms Cobb said. But he could also be ill-tempered, and when the chimp didn't like what was going on, he would fling excrement and other objects.

RIP Cheetah.

not really an actor though is he

Tell that to Willy from Free Willy, Flipper, Benji, The Littlest Hobo. What did you do xmas day, go around tell people the alleged 'truth' about Santa?

IIRC Cheetah was a very demanding actor, who had his own trailer and would keep the others waiting on set until exactly 24 bananas had been delivered, not overly ripe, not green. I believe this sort of behaviour got him fired as understudy for Linda Hunt in the Year of Living Dangerously.

Post was going along nicely until this sentence. Now I'm a bit disturbed as to how your mind works :thumbsu:

I'm in trouble if I've managed to disturb you. Thought that nothing was beneath you Splendiferous.

Actually, Linda Hunt seriously creeped me out in that movie. Had not heard of her before and thought I was watching a Thai actor at work. When I realised I struck by what a strange looking woman she is. Mind you, we have board member that also has me staring like I can't work out the complexities of a maze.

More needs to be said about Charles Napier.

Was in so many things it is ridiculous.

Movies such as Blues Brothers, Rambo, Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, The Cable Guy, Married To The Mob,The Grifters and a couple of the Austin Powers movies.

TV: Dallas, Hogan's Heroes, LA Law, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Monk, CSI, Simpsons, The Practice, Roswell, Party of Five, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Murder She Wrote, A-Team, Night Court, Dukes of Hazzard, CHiPs, Simon & Simon, Knight Rider, The Incredible Hulk, Starsky & Hutch, Rockford Files, Baa Baa Black Sheep (anybody else remember this show?), The Streets of San Francisco, Baretta, Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Kojak.

These are just the shows and movies that strike a chord with me. There are numerous others. Instantly recognisable support actor who was great at playing military types, judges or just a good ol' boy character.
