Collingwood's wins are simply unsustainable; they leave so much to chance. Bluntly put, they are an extremely weak top-four matchup and if we can't roll them, we have no hope against Melbourne and Sydney.

Agree 100 %. And i reckon we will roll them well. In fact i reckon they go out in straight sets.

There is a fair bit of underrating Collingwood here, no team flukes 11 wins in a row. Their team is pretty even across the board, moreso than someone like Melb (trash forward line). A couple of A grade defenders (Moore and Maynard), dangerous small forwards (Elliott and Ginnivan) and an even midfield that doesn’t rely on a single player to get them over the line.

The intangible is their crowd at the MCG, I’ve been at a fair few of their close wins this year including today and when their fans are up and about chanting, it’s extremely hostile for the opposition.

Their percentage and their record against other top 8 teams doesnt lie. They are an average side that fights and scraps but lacks firepower. If we are a real flag contender we will win and win well despite their crowd.

Great time slot. Reminds me of the prelim against wet toast when Stevie J rose from the ashes and appeared on the boundary after we all feared him kaput.

Or was that a 2pm game 🤔 It felt twilighty

I was sitting on level 4 of the ponsford stand and i remember the roar from our fans when he came out and started jogging the boundary. Day finals are great like that (it was 2.10 from what i remember).

I can see why it's that time .

Melb cats fans hardly come to night games in G-town .
Same as G-town cats fans travel into the city .

Funny .
More G-town cats fans travel than city cats travel .

Hard to please everyone.

Harder to get tix in G town. Dunno.

I stopped going because it was boring (used to be there week in week out) but I am sure alot of Melb based supporters travel to Geelong.

Yes we are the best side currently in the Comp... but it's something just coming up against Collingwood makes me nervous...

They don't go away .
Play every minute of the game.
They just run and pressure .
Very tigers like

The pies crowd isn’t that bad I’ve found. They can be a bit feral but the pies have had so many losses over the years that they half expect to get done and they cop it. Also, pies fans I know are wrapt to be in the finals after last year and their realistic expectations are that they will be very good in a couple of years.
It’ll be nothing compared to the pent up rage and arrogance that engulfed Richmond supporters in 2017- genuinely never seen a crowd like that and it did make a difference.

Don't think Vline got the memo .
Train tracks probably getting fixed up .

Last time I got the bus the Leyland brothers tour took 333 hours to get to the ground .

Having been a daily commuter for the best part of 10 years, trust me when I say I get the frustrations of Vline - regarding any clashes with the upcoming finals weekend, it'll be bloody annoying but it's not like they've intentionally scheduled things to clash as works would have been planned some time ago

What will be important to see is how they respond and the additional services they provide to assist with the extra passenger loads which will occur

Agreed. Get a decent margin up and they're either leaving the ground in droves or completely silent.

Not exactly prime time .
So...

Chances are this was the preferred time for Geelong, and that the AFL may have actually listened to our request knowing that our home final wasn't going to be played on our home deck but rather at our opponents home ground

If this time is favoured by the club, I'm all for playing at twilight

It’s perfect.

I know it takes bit to travel EPS night games don't get home to very late .
