Damn the clusterfu** is happening

Looks like some promotion poster someone made on photoshop. They've sourced images of 4 players all from completely different years (not to mention Pendles wearing black shorts in the back).

Would put my money more on this one, plus it's consistent with what we saw Round 1 this year.

Technically every team needs a third kit like soccer that doesn’t incorporate its main colours

The problem is that Geelong's home, unlike the rest of the league, is primarily white (w/white back), so an effective clash to it is our home with back shorts (as white shorts introduces unnecessary clash.
Simply no way of making a working clash if Geelong wear their dark shorts instead of white (as they seem to have done for many years now).

No. If this match up happens it's entirely the AFL's fault for allowing Geelong to wear dark shorts with their white jumper.

Going on promotional images is utterly pointless. They’re never made to reflect what the teams will wear. They’re likely just done by some junior member of the graphic design department whose brief is to put a player from each team in the image.

Re Collingwood needing an alternate jumper to avoid a clash with Geelong in blue shorts... thats fine, but that means every team is going to start needing flouro orange or hot pink third kits. Do we really want to see that when one team can just change their shorts?

Even International soccer teams will often switch their shorts to accommodate visiting teams' kits. As an example, England normally wear blue shorts but wear white when they are the home side to Argentina, who wear full blue.
