They do facepalm
Do they though for away games against Geelong? If it's Geelong's home game and they want to wear blue shorts (which should be their right, white shorts argument aside) then Collingwood can't wear the white clash with white shorts or the black home with white shorts. Really there needs to be a third option/colour. Maybe the gold from the wreath on the logo.

Geelong has a long history now of wearing white shorts at home, they clearly have no problem with it so it's essentially a de-facto Home kit.

The gold isn't really a club colour so I cant really see that happening, it'd be like Richmond making a red kit because of the red tongue in their logo.

The bottom line is there is an agreement between the two clubs that's stood for a long time now and it works, no reason it should change.

If the grand final is Geelong v Sydney it’ll be the first time Geelong have worn navy shorts in a grand final since 1994.

Will look wrong to me.

Have a really tough prelim first before we worry about this.

Geelong with white shorts that had a small navy hoop at the end of each leg could look quite good.
Geelong wear the hoops, not hoop

Anyone notice the lack of Black Armbands tonight after the AFL announced players would be wearing them as a tribute to Elizabeth II? I've only spotted one player from each side wearing them to date

I wonder how the Geelong vs Brisbane prelim will look. In H&A games Geelong always wears blue shorts vs Lions in the Roys jumper w/ white shorts. But I think for a final Cats in all white vs Brisbane in all home would look best. (Cats could even probably get away with blue shorts against maroon shorts if they really want to)

Yeah I would expect Brisbane to wear their full home and wouldn't be surprised if that means Geelong are in white shorts. Both sides would like to be wearing their premiership kit so deep into the finals. I'd expect it to be like the 2004 prelim.

Interesting in today's SA North Eastern FL Grand Final, they implemented a different white shorts rule today.

Normally it's like the old days - coloured at home, white away, regardless of H&A or Finals

My local team were the designated Away team in both A and B Grade and wore their full home kit (Tigers jumper and black shorts), while Blyth / Snowtown (Geelong colours) in the B Grade wore white shorts despite being the designated home team, and Min / Man (yellow peril with navy instead of royal) wore white shorts as the home team as well (it was even at their home ground!)
