mind you, those tests are always a little misleading IMO.

you can throw whatever stats you like at me but there is absolutely no way Dustin Martin & Andrew Hooper are faster than Trav Colyer and Lewis Jetta.

Yep. Exactly right. Sprint tests are done over 15 or 20m. Explosive pace is what comes into it.

The selection of Minson is baffling

I'll quote what I wrote earlier....

I can answer the Minson one. Roughead who will be our starting ruck in a few years has a problematic shoulder. He popped it out twice just a few weeks ago and earlier in the year. I'm glad they're taking it easy with him I'd hate to cut his career in half.

Previous one to Spargo was Dermie, 82 1SF.

The bloke who debuted in the 75 2SF was Michael Cooke, who then played his 2nd and last career game in that year's GF and was replaced kickless (this was before interchange). You may have been confused with Bernie Jones.


As for the non-selection of Moles....last time I saw Moles play he coughed the ball up by foot a lot, a major issue for us last week.

Is it really Eade's fault? Have said it before, WB depite what many have said, don't have the cattle. Their midfield can be good, but apart from Griffin and Cooney, the rest are solid. The forwardline was always an issue, even with Hall. The depth is not there. I was amazed they were favourites for the flag depite not really improving the forwardline...and to make things worse they get rid of Mr September Akermanis which was beyond stupid. Who cares if he is a brat, the bloke can play...and MUCH better than the captain can!

In our PF last year against St.Kilda we saw just how much value Akermanis was. He was recruited to the club to help us win such games, but was beyond pathetic.

Aker had 14 touches, 2 marks, 0 goals & 0 goal assists and his only influence on the game was kicking the ball out deliberately in the last qtr. From the next piece of play Riewoldt marked and goaled to put St.Kilda back in front..... Aker was a complete non-factor.

In the same game Johnson had 19 touches, 6 marks & 2 goals and was one of our better players.

In hindsight Aker should have been arse-holed after that game as he played like an old man.

I'll be very interested to see how Hooper goes. I was really wishing the Blues picked him up last year. Should never have gone so low in the draft.
