Flemington "Super Saturday" 8/3

Had a great day at flemington yesterday, although only backed one winner. Red Lord in sydney. Mind you, I wasn't really fairdinkum yesterday. I had something for interests sake on old smoking joe. Love that horse, and he ran on OK for an old fella. Hope he comes back and gets back into his QE form.

If you get the chance to watch it again look for Largo Lad.
Just kept changing where he was going the entire length of the straight, but just kept running into bums (the above shot of his checkered run was amazing on Channel 7). Even Sound Journey managed to stop him in the last 100. Still the winner was a sitting duck, & showed plenty of guts.

Lets hope all of those 3 year olds can keep healthy, as it will be a bumper WFA spring if they can. Many of those running in the current top WFA races will be left in there dust, if they even bother going around.

PS. Bruce McAvaney please retire, its become embarrassing. Even after races he couldn't show where the placegetters had come from, when they stop the race & showed it in slow motion. Names were continually incorrect. Surely I wasn't the only one realising this?
Yeah well u can say the same for Playwright if it hadn't drawn 1 and drawn a barrier where it had some galloping room and didn't get shuffled back then he could of gone over the top of em. By the time it saw daylight he was giving them to bigger a start coz of the position it was in.

Absolutely rocketed to the line.

I think you can safely follow the first six over the line in the guineas with a total of 1.3l seperating them

Light Fantastic- Gun horse Gun ride
Marching- unlucky in straight when got held up a couple of times
Playwright- Barrier one, got going when race was over
Sound journey- Great run beaten 3/4 length
Largo Lad- Ran up the backside of nearly every horse in the race
Viatorian- Overraced 3&4 deep the trip beaten 1.3l

Great race with great horses

Just a question for those who know the racing game better than I do. Is/Was there anything dodgy about the Teranaba and Casino Prince rides in the Australian Cup. They are both Anthony Cummings trained and owned by racing newcomer and big spender Nathan Tinkler. He has brought Casino Prince (and Teranaba I think) to be a sire in the future and if it could have won the race I'm sure it would have increased its initial standing fee. The question is was Teranaba entered in the race and run along at genuine pace to set up the race for Casino Prince who was quickly snagged to the back of the field so he could run on and win (he only managed 3rd)? Of course this is both horses usual pattern of racing. Is this pace setting not allowed, and if it isn't how blatant does it have to be before stewards step in.

By the way I'm not talking through my pocket I didn't even have a bet in the race.

What about Bart saying I wont chagre you and costs for the next few months if we enter Teranaba and its sets the pace for both horses.....Sirmione and Casino Prince. I reckon this sort of thing would happen all the time and is not out of the question. SHould start a new thread on it

Reminds me of this race. Court Command ($2.60 fav) leads, Muzdaher (Hayes) attacks it, setting a good pace for Hayes trio of Churchill Downs ($9.50) Danever ($7.50) Anamato ($9) all to run on. Court Command runs 3rd, mown down by Wonderful World and Excites, Muzdaher winds up 14.7L 12th
