Back in my day we had to learn the Bay ropes the hard way by trial and error and taking notes from the Bay veterans on how they went about it.

When I first joined Bigfooty, it was the night after the Hawf v Geelong 2008 GF and I was as pissed as Duritz, I had no idea what board was what.

I just started posting drunken Bay style trolling shit on the main board, god knows how I didn't get red carded but it was GF night where just about everyone is posting drunken stupid trolling shit so I must've just slipped under the radar.

I went back to Bigfooty the next day when I was a bit more sober and discovered Bay 13 and thought "Yeah this is more my style" and the rest is history.

As a Bay veteran now my only piece of advice to n00bs is that you need to be able to roll with the punches and have a laugh at your own club as we all cop it and the best form of defence is attack, when flogs troll your club you just deflect by trolling their club back even harder, melting every time someone trolls your club about something will get you a one way ticket to FOTY.

That's actually two pieces of advice for the price of one.

It's hard to put into exact words what constitutes a moral victory, it depends on a lot of factors, the free kick count, what the neutrals say on the main board, injuries, the break between games, travel distance, the ground, weather conditions, quality of WAGS etc.

You need at least 2 or 3 of these factors in your favour to get a moral victory unless you're St Kilda as we get automatic moral victories regardless.

Very well said. Learning the ropes the hard way is always the best way to learn. This Induction Pack is more about useful terms/tips to avoid the great '15 Turnip Crop of Threads repeating/use the correct terminology/prevent future welchers/etc....

I remember one of my very first posts was replied to by that great old-timer flog Croat tiger. He EFA'd one of my posts. The only problem was, he proceeded to misspell three words which required me to check if EFA really did stand for 'Edited For Accuracy' given the inaccurate edit. If I had known earlier who Croat Tiger was, I would've understood the poster behind the post better/made a reply about tyre maintenance

Porked04 - Excellent introduction to the Bay

As a very novice Bay poster there are a couple of things i am not aware of or find quite confusing.

Constant username changes particularly by Bay mods , not sure what that is about. Also seems to be banned users who are reborn under different usernames.

Untrue. The BF mods are ruthless in the banzing. Once you're banned, that's it, kaput, you're out forever. No second chances.

You only have one BF life my young flogawan, use it wisely.

References to the poster Sooz (not sure on the spelling) but seems quite a character on the Bay, I think at one stage was posting as Sooz's cat Imagine it is quite a convoluted story re this person.

Stay blissful in your sooz ignorance. Trust me, you're better off.
