So how much longer will this be allowed to go on?

Fast pace game with high stakes. Ball moving around with pace in tight areas. Then a player will grab the ball and immediately flop to the ground hoping to "draw" the high free kick, and they often succeed. They're not looking to kick, handball, or complete any kind of football action; they just flop to their belly hoping an opposition player makes contact with their shoulder or head or "pushes" them in the back.

Don't want to hear any nonsense about this being an example of "poor tackling technique". Its ridiculous that players in a fast pace game have to anticipate players intentionally flopping to the ground because they know the umpires love giving free kicks for the softest of highs. The AFL ironed out the Joel Selwood duck so why aren't they taking action with the flop?

Ted Clohesy did it in the 4th quarter tonight.
Several Collingwood players succeeded last night.

It literally happens several times every game, and especially in close games where teams are desperately looking for a breakthrough in congestion.

Aren’t the entire Carlton team the expert exponents at this?

Don't fine the players, just pay a free kick to the other team for people flopping, it's a simple fix but the AFL will let it go on for a while till the commentators & media catch up, It's amazing how much they watch the game but seem to be behind the fans on this.

Literally don't know of any Carlton players who do this on a regular basis. Cerra the closest to it but nowhere near the Ginnivans, Watsons and Weightmans of the world.

I for one utterly despise these sort of actions and would gladly call out any of our players who did so frequently.

Dick. Dick Naicos.
I was looking for the “Last two minutes” video that usually get put out for the close games, so I could see the brave work on the boundary line from Dick Naicos.
Funnily, they don’t have one this week. Anyone know why? No sponsor so no video would be the probable AFL decision making,

People here misunderstanding the subject of this thread.

I'm not talking about staging. I'm talking about players intentionally throwing themselves to the ground with the explicit intention to draw high contact.

It shouldn't result in a fine or a free kick against. If a player who flops like that gets taken high, it should simply be play on, even if they get hit on the head, let alone the shoulder. If you intentionally put yourself in a position to receive high contact in hopes of winning a free kick, you should never be rewarded, and opposition players should not be penalized for trying to play the game properly.

Willie Rioli today… they need to start handing out fines and increasing them if they successfully con the ump into a free kick or 50.
Fines mean zero for players on heaps of cash. Gotta be free kicks or suspension.

Ginnivan, Watson, Moore, Daicos, Weightman and Fisher the worst in my eyes. Sure there's others I'm forgetting but these 6 are utterly putrid with it.
Curnow staged Friday night throwing himself back like he had been suplexed. None of the others you mention did that and when they do now they don't get a free kick so what's your issue. Watson gets grabbed by the neck on the ground and crickets from everyone.

Charlie Curnow’s an art master of it whenever he plays the Pies. Usually manages to get 2-3 goals against us from bullshit flopping frees that no-one else gets.
