AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
very disappointing, and a bit under the radar.
Anyone know when this happened?
good point, just a name that came to mind. is there anyone else in the VFL mate you would chase?
Depends on what kind role we are filling but Matt Embling who was at Sandy this year would be very good replacement for Jaymie Graham or in the academy.
Apart from that apart from Ayres don't really think. I wonder if Simon McPhee could be VFL coach & academy director? Kind of seems like its same type of job!
Given the state of the alliance, wouldn't that be a conflict of interest?
I read somewhere that he actually left ages ago...during the season I think. His building work is going really well and he didn't have the time. Don't think it was recently. Lazy journalism.
Right.. thanks for that.
Not sure bout that cos he was still there game days and at few training late in season I attended. He might told them during season but he was definently still around
Grant Thomas
Stan Alves
Ken Sheldon
Tim Watson
Scott Watters
He is 67, too oldLove the idea of bringing Stan Alves back, make it happen St Kilda
Max is a dud. Didn't exactly turn Stanley into an AA defender as was expected.
RE: Thompson. pretty sure that he married into a savvy business family, so he has some top notch advisors and mentors.

Watson was shagging an old mate's sister the year he won Daddy of the year..lolOn a side note, I commented about Richo playing his cards right and making the club chase him... and how it's better to be wanted as opposed to neeeding the job.
There is no greater example of this than with Alves. Poor old Stan was the accidental coach IMO and never really embraced. It was ll about Barker becoming senior coach until he tragically passed away. Stan happened to fill the void as he was our skills coach at the time IIRC. The club acted hastily in sacking him, and then went about employing fkcn Watson.
Pretty sure that Plympton said he wanted someone with good values, hence Watson... a person who supposedly mirrored everything good about Barker.
