Official Club Stuff Football Department Review and Board update

No tin hat or delusion here.
The club said the "review" was into the footy department and it made no recommendation to sack Liddle. Indeed, Liddle had to go to Sayers to find out why he was talking to Cook.
Despite this, Sayers justifies Liddle's sacking by stating in an email to members that the entire club is under review. That's where the media gets it from - Sayers' own communications. I'd like to ask who is doing that review? Him? He's changed the goal posts to meet his narrative.
Just for the record, I'm pleased Liddle is gone but nothing about this deserves to go unquestioned.
It didn't make a recommendation to sack anyone. Thats not what reviews do. The board decides those outcomes. So your beginning understanding of reviews is wrong already.

Next if you find a department to be a complete mess. You remove the person who is responsible. Simple. It's not going without question, but it's not convenient and not a goal post change.

Liddle going to talk to Sayers about cook is a media narrative. Sayers was setting up a situation where Liddle could go with reputation in tact as he finds a new role somewhere else. Instead the fool was leaking everything he could and his ego got the better of him. Made his own position untennable and hurt his own reputation even more, and yes some of that is based off behind the scenes info I've heard.

Liddle being being the CEO, is within the Football Department. I don't think his role is outside the confines of the department.

Do I suspect there may have been predetermined outcomes? Absolutely
The CEO role definitely sits outside the footy department but I agree with many that doesn't mean he shouldn't be held to account for its failures. Liddle's position also made it was appropriate for him to support the review process, although I expect his involvement was only as a facilitator.

Now you are just making things up.
I understand what a review does. I never suggested it would recommend anyone be sacked. Yet Sayers used his email to members to justify Liddle's sacking by saying the whole club was under review. Review = see you later.
Brad Lloyd is the head of the footy department. He still has a job. Surely he's responsible?
Liddle going to talk to Sayers about Cook is not a media narrative. Sayers referred, in his email to members, to the fact Liddle had approached him for clarity regarding his role.
The only thing I agree with you on is that Liddle's position was untenable. I'm happy he's gone.

Geeze I really like Sayers. Leadership is action in my view. And he’s finally delivering on what we’ve been demanding for many years.

If this is true, as directly stated, I will bare my arse on the proverbial street - or Lygon Street - whichever people prefer.
Interesting statement.............given your user-name.

Then please explain how Lloyd still has a job!!!

Once he gets rid of Lloyd as well I'll celebrate. I'm sure Cook will know of someone who'll be perfect for the role.

What Arr0w is saying is that there is a difference between "over-sight" and "over-reach".

I'm not convinced Lloyd does have a job still. Staggered release has been my theory since the review.

I wonder if he had a the role with the Lions on hold while he waited for a decision from Clarko?
Interesting timing that we hear Clarko has knocked us back one last time and then Bruce moving on of his own volition.
