Oh, me too. Even middling, it's still light-years ahead of that other Monday night offering, Talking Footy, which, aside from Carey (who is far too good for it), really is just boring dross.

Good point about Thommo. I always thought his shrugging "resent it all you like. It's the truth" indifference contrasted amusingly with the 'everything is a big deal' nature of the other three. I do also wonder if Hutchy has been taking the foot off the gas a bit of late so as not to leave Lloydo, a good game analyst but not they most natural or dynamic of media performers, too exposed. Letting Lloyd pick North over Essendon without raising histrionic outrage? Unforgivable.

I liked Carey on Classified, obviously coz he often clashed with Caro. Even when he wasn't blatantly disagreeing with her, it was clear there were plenty of times he just dying to say to her: "shut the heck up! What the heck would you know?!?" :p

I sometimes tape Talking Footy, but skim through at least half of it, often just watching the "funny" (pfft) stuff at the end.

Jeez, Caro's a farkin snob.... tonight she used the phrase "raison d'être", and when the other guys looked at her, not knowing what she meant, she goes: "it means 'their reason for being'; I've traveled."
Sure, she was only 80% serious in her condescension, but still, we're there's smoke there's fire :D

The only guy who asked her about raison d' was Jabba the Hutch - and I suspect that he knows what it means, he was just playing the batt'ler/populist card for a cheap laugh.

I don't speak French but I know what it means. Caro was boastin' a little but.

The correct answer was, "Well Craig, we all knew you can't write, now we know you can't read either."

Hutchy - Been a touch tired and cranky and lethargic all season. Even those end credit theatrics have lost their energy. In the last year or so he's has lost much that sweaty, sleazy, pale, pasty, car-park-watching, ambulance-chasing, tabloid-trash, gutter-press whiff that we all loved to hate. Needs to get back to his gutter-press roots, back to the car parks, the hospitals, the airports. .

You've absolutely nailed Hutchy. He has started to have delusions of granduer, thinking he is an actual football commentator. Hes not. We need the dodgy Hutchy back, the guy who would follow Ben Cousins to the US, who would root through a players garbage if he had to.

Did she have a go at Fox Footy for cutting away as Gia & Josh were about to be farewelled by the teams lined up ?
Thought that was a shithouse thing to do,but whose fault is it ? Eddies
Notice the sunday footy now ends at 7.25pm,to give Eddie & Kermott 5 more minutes of air time [we just don't hear them enough each week].Eddie would've gone apeshit if Seven cut away from Luke Balls farewell Friday night.

i c wut u did thurr

Nah, don't give Hutchy too much credit. :) He's just clever enough to act and ham it up for the show, but that's stretching the range of his smarts.
I've heard a lot of him on SEN in recent years, and I'd bet he wouldn't know what that means

I miss Grant Thomas. He was grumpy, but he was also a straightshooter and avoided cliches and platitudes.

Re: Hutchy, you can just tell that Damien Barrett is waiting on the sidelines for his chance to weasel in and take Hutchy's spot. Either that or Caro's, so he can have his 'Barro's Arrow' segment instead

Some nice tetchiness this week from Garry towards Caro and her imaginary "people I've spoken to" in regards to Mitch Clark (Garry's at his best when it's about Melbourne). Actually, the whole show had a slight "Caro vs. the rest" vibe to it, kind of like the old days. The others seemed peeved at her attempt to give Richmond a "pass mark" for the year at the start of the show and it seems to carry on throughout. All in all, not too bad.

I liked how he nitpicked her talk of players wanting out of Collingwood too. I think he's tiring a bit of the bullshit that gets floated about the place, and good on him too.

Geelong's era is over. No flag next 3 years I say. Probably good enough for 4th-8th. But if a premiership window is defined as 5 years, I would say that Geelong are <50% to win a premiership in that time.

Liveliest and best show of the year.

When Hutchy's wrong about something, he's really wrong, off somewhere spinning in his own demented orbit. But when he's right, oh, when he's right. Brilliant.
