Always funny when supporters of the recent startups West Coast, Adelaide and Fremantle try to deny that a traditional club has history. Get over the insecurity mate.

Not as funny as supporters of recent startups trying to claim a history.

Oh please, I'm not bitter, you can search my history of posts to confirm that if you wish. We could've won if we had a fraction of a forward-line. If the Bloods beat us in the next two I might feel bitter, but this is completely unrelated.

From my point of view, it's very lame. The name obviously bears significant meaning to some people, but 16 year olds on BigFooty... please.

Yeah, I know, I was agreeing with you.

Sorry, should've made that more clear. :)

That's the single worst thing I've ever read.

Nothing like a bit of heritage or tradition, you're really clutching at straws here.

Get over yourself, you bitter hate-filled bigot.

If they thought of them as the bloods, why not use the phrase before they won the GF? Its just jumping on the band wagon.

I remember hearing that at the start of the 2005 season the Swans leadership group decided to start using the name Bloods because it was fearsome sounding and cool.

Oh well. There's nothing I can say to convince you otherwise. What makes you think I'm full of hate? I haven't insulted people, and the tone of my posts hasn't suggested it. Believe it or not, a West Coast supporter posting something Sydney-related isn't automatically doing so to discredit them in any way.

I acknowledge club heritage. In the Swans case, they have a strong history in Melbourne - my issue is not with those supporters. There's no point in me posting anything else now though because it'd be reiteration. Try to see it as more than "a bitter West Coast fan" posting about Sydney. Or is that too difficult for BigFooty?

If that's the case (and I do vaguely remember it now) I can understand quite a few things. But I've seen a good 5-10 accounts registered sometime between September and November with "blood" in the name. Perhaps two before that?

You couldn't be more wrong. This year, there have been a total of 4 registrations by Sydney supporters using 'blood' in their name.
One of those is banned (3 posts), two have never posted and the other is in this thread.

Oh well, perhaps it's just the ones that do post annoy me immensely. Feel free to delete this thread.

Bloods was very common right up to the move to Sydney, it was like the blues, the woods or the dons.. cant say what the Sydneysiders used once up there

Yes I thought it was a joke when the Crows wore an old SANFL state jumper during heritage week.

Yep, ok. You got a bite here.

I ask you a simple question. When will you stop 'tooting' your own HORN? You don't have a woman to do it?

W**ker.

I agree with Cerpin. There must be HEAPS of 'ex-South supporters' (most probably now 'Sydney supporters') who would be spewing about the things that have gone on since 2pm on the 24th Sept. I mean its terrible to see the 20,000 people turn up in Sydney to watch an AFL cup paraded down the street, or the level of support blossom so dramatically around the nation ... not.

The Bloods supporters deserve all of the recognition they can get for what they have achieved as a club for the AFL. They had to endure so much pain, and then were tasked with making the VFL a national sport. If it wasn't for their efforts or suffering, it would be a very different 'AFL' today. I would have thought that using that legacy today is a mark of respect.

But dont worry, I aint changing my moniker to 'Bleed Schneiderman Bleed'.

Unless he asks to be traded to Collingwood.

Well thats a little hypocritical mate, if you can add Fremantle to that than you have to add Port. Fremantle football has as much if not more history as Port Adeladie does. Neither is relevant now and it shouldnt be associated with the AFL sides.

It suits you to believe that. No denying that Fremantle (the district) has a rich football history and two clubs with a long tradition of success. But the Dockers are a new startup. Port Adelaide are not. Sydney were South Melbourne who relocated and therefore have a continuous history.
