the only reason the nrl out rates the afl is because fox is the only channel that has league on saturdays whereas fox footy is in direct competition with 10 on saturdays and 9 on sundays

port vs bulldogs and wc vs kangaroos weren't really match of the round material now were they.

Lets just say they do scrap Fox Footy, does that mean that even though we have a paid subscription for it we'll lose the channel and get nothing back, or will they just replace our subscription for Fox Footy with FS3? I can't imagine a refund because FF is part of a package deal.

ESPN would be the worst possible thing to happen for live footy in this country, they would be more likely to play their matches after the fact late at night to give them airspace to play their soccer and basketball and baseball and NFL and ice hockey. That's why people get the damn channel for, not to watch Aussie Rules.

that sucks, FoxFooty is pretty much the only channel i watch..with the odd exception.

If this is true then it is the death of my subscription - no point having it for Hogans Heroes, Star Trek and the Ellen DeGeneras Show!!!!

If it gets cancelled then I am willing to raise a class action for a rebate on subs. FoxFooty was the reason why I got the service due to Lions matches not getting telecast a lot into Victoria live.

Those figures are terrible! Especially if they're national. 64,000 people watching an AFL game nationally - no wonder they're pulling up stumps. You nearly get more people in the stadium than watching it at home..

Yeah, thats what the Americans would do - lets sue their asses...

Sometimes you get dealt a bad hand fella.

They obviously can't confirm running beyond September 30 because right now they have no football rights. Until negotiations are completed, everyone has to carry on like Seven and Ten have full football rights.

This is why the AFL have said they can still produce a fixture for next season, and is also why Foxtel aren't planning continuing Fox Footy in the offseason.

For angry subscribers, you will still get footy next year somehow so chill out. Either the games will be on free-to-air, or will be on Fox Footy, or will be on another channel available through Foxtel/Austar.

As your callsign and team suggests!

Did I say "sue" ? I just want a reduction of subscription due to less service being offerred. Pro rata and common sense I say. I'm not a vexatious litigant.

Whats my 'callsign' got to do with anything mate? I know my team is travelling about as well as The Bears at Carrara at the minute but there's no use getting a posse' together and sueing those bad people at Fox is there? They'll do whatever they'll do.

Define 'class-action' then fella. I'm sure it involves civil legal action by a group of people (in the American vernacular - sue).

That said, it still means that about 1 in 12 foxtel/austar subscribers watched it. If all channels were that good, there'd only be 12!

You mentioned being dealt a bad deal:

Waverley - defunct, cold derelict suburb
Geelong - 1 premiership in past 50 years (my brother in law was named in 63 side but broke his thumb and missed the game only to play in 67 loss)

Not having a go, just having a joke Wave.

As I mentioned I'm not vexatious but like to get value for my money. As far as I see, this would be a variation in my contract and should be adjusted accordingly?

Fair enough. It did seem very low but I guess I'm used to seeing the FTA ratings figures which obviously are always going to be higher.

Yeah - I'm not exactly being totally serious either mate. For the record my username has absolutely nothing to do with said venue or area surrounding it... :)

Ouch - that would have to be some serious bad luck on your brother in law's part mate. Yeah, I live in hope of seeing my dud team deliver at least one flag in my lifetime....I'm still waiting.

espn will suck dog balls, the picture for soccer is rubbish
I know Goss and the Western Front is cr*p cr*p cr*p.....no comparison to Fox Footy channel...

Well of course people are going to think those things on a FOOTY blog site!

There's some interesting in laws in our family =
Brother in-law - 1 grand final loss with Geelong
Uncle in-law = 7 GF's with Essendon for 3 wins, 3 lossed + 1 draw including kicking 11 points in the draw!
Sister's Father-in-law = 4 goals in Melbourne GF winning side

Spending a lot of time near Geelong I've got an affiliation for the side but recent finals matches have made them drop in my '2nd favourite team' status.

What's the big deal. It's being canned after footy season finishes.

The games and programs we currently watch will still be shown next year.

BTW - as mentioned above, Fox Sports 3 is being launched soon, and this channel is being launched for the domestic cricket season (20/20, ING & Pura Cup) - plus Footy content & live A-League matches will fill in the blanks.

More live sport is a winner in my book.:thumbsu:

Unfortunately recent final and non-final performances have tested my patience but I have vowed to push through the pain and continue to wait for the tide to turn..
