Foxtel - how atrocious has it become year after year?

Taken from another thread

I couldn't find it mentioned elsewhere, but Bill & Boz got the axe by Foxtel after a three year run.

I was watching replays of the women's football Olympic qualifiers on Kayo, and the first game was missing most of the first half, the games that didn't involve Australia had no commentary and the Australia win was celebrated at the end of the game by a screen banner that read: Matilads hit Thailand for six....... A pretty ordinary effort so far.

It was a decent show. I thought the panel was a bit monotone at times. Woods is professional, and when bozza looked straight down the camera and smiled i felt he was assaulting my soul. But ok.

very NSW centric which may have hurt too

I'm surprised Foxtel still exists with the amount of streaming services available to the public.
So long as they live sports rights, and satellite delivery, which is what they will focus on, they’ll be around.
trick is to not pay full retail cost. I pay $50 a month not the $100+ Or so it retails at
For that price i think its worth it

I was with Foxtel for over 10 years so i tired to make a deal with them. I said for $40 month I will stay Foxtel said ok but only for 6 months but after that we will have to charge you normal price lols

All you have to do is at the end of the time is make another call, like about 2 minutes of work. Not always but usually it will be 12 months as well.

I'm pretty sure I saw what looked like every Simpsons season available on Disney+ when I was brief subscriber recently.
I've not checked if it's all of them but it's advertised that way.
I only really know about it because of the articles about people complaining that the aspect ratio was stuffed up for early seasons.

Me and the wife talking very seriously about dropping Foxtel. So often you scroll through the channels and find very little or the same stuff. Maybe if you had everything you would be fine but the way the gauge you for it isn’t worth it. Netflix and Kayo for 1/3 the cost.

Was paying $39 a month for sport. As that deal was expiring, rang up and told them I would cancel unless they could give me the same deal for another 12 months. Told them I only used it for sport.

They first offered me $55 for sport for 12 months. Said no.

They then offered $50 for 6 months. Said no.

They then offered $49 for entertainment only, not sport. Said WTF?

They then offered $39 for 6 months for sport. Told them to make it 12 months and I would stay. They said they couldn’t do it. Told them that 2 of my friends had got that exact deal yesterday which was true. They said they couldn’t do it.

So I cancelled and never heard back from them. Was with them for 15 years.

Yeah similar experience except they offered some other deal and we took it but then they went and cancelled everything except sport which meant we had to call them back again because they'd ****ed up and not done what they said they'd do. When we did get hold of them again it was to say forget the whole thing we're done.

Not sounding good for me as on the same package and due for renewal in the next two weeks.

About 2 months. Got Kayo through BetEasy which had the free 3 month trial and has been ok. Still not convinced the HD quality on NBN for footy but will see how it goes.
how does that work ?

Telstra has a kayo promotion but its a 12 month contract at half price..I only need it for the footy season and then only for the 3 or 4 time the Hawks arent on FTA I can time it to a few months worth and get them all

BetEasy had a promotion offering their customers 3 months free Kayo. Not sure if it’s still going.
