Can't see a tall forward in sight for them either.

At this stage I’m starting to get some serious Tom North vibes off Luke Valente.
If he’s fit and available and can’t get a game in the first 6 weeks or so with all the inevitable injuries it’s hard to know where he fits

He got a 2 year extension in October whereas North got rookied and then cut. I think the club have him in their future plans. Dual sided, big bodied inside mids are valuable.

Needs a good run at it, from all reports he was a good kick, skilled. Freo is still a team of foot soldiers, we need
more natural players, and mids who can use the pill, find the sticks.
Too many mids, half backs, and too little attacking options.

North actually played and was obviously not up to it. Valente has been either injured or recovering from injury (during Covid without WAFL) his whole time. I get more Bennell vibes than North - and I don't think he is particularly like Bennell.

Wilson played at peel at the weekend.
I think Stephen hill might be trapped in Jason Weber’s locker at perth glory

Whats the rule to replace an injured player before season fine details? does it have to be season ending ? or is lobbs injury classified as a longterm injury and we can get someone to fill his spot while he recovers?

“The good news is he’s not far away either. We’re hoping to get him back pretty soon”

has Weber returned disguised as Belly?!

You can almost hear and see his contempt for the supporters dripping off the pages. It's so transparent. Disastrous injury news from the weekend? No worry, let's buy the plebs off with a good news story except don't put any actual actual news in it, just play them for the fools they are.

I’ve never even considered Meek a like for like replacement for Lobb but it could work. We definitely lose a bit of mobility although Meek moves surprisingly well for his size
Almost exactly a year ago this was our injury list....

Nathan WilsonToe4-5 weeks

And we were all freaking out about our backline getting pantsed with Hamling, Pearce and Wilson all out.

What eventuated was Luke Ryan becoming an All Australian and Brennan Cox proving he wasn't far behind.

Perhaps some forwards will similarly grasp the opportunity presented with both hands this season.
I'm feeling the same optimism here ( I think it's that or maybe masking for the inevitable run of the mill season )

I think most of us knew that some out of the square thinking needs to be going on down there at Cockburn with the shitty forward line we had to work with .
Here's opportunity to not only give some of those new forwards , Meek , Valente and Dixon a good dig and not just be left at Peel all year , but maybe try out some of those backs as forwards .As has been said " they are footy players FFS "
Also will hopefully give our mids a kick in the arse to attack the goals more and our small forwards to learn how to crumb .

Glass half full, I reckon the boys and JLo will lift , they are all young and hungry and want to impress .
Maybe not this year but these tough seasons are gonna set us up for the next 3-4 years .

If we are relying on Dixon we are in a spot of bother.

Considering he’s no longer on our list then yes we’re in a lot of trouble if we’re relying on him.
Sorry I was thinking of Odriscoll but typed Dixon .
Meant more guys like Chapman , Treacy .
Could Acres play as a tallish lead up forward and push young to the wing ?
