To me I don't really care about that.

Ken Hinkley would fit well at the dockers.

Hinkley would get this side to a 5th to 8th finals spot and get an Elim final win or 2. Then eventually a preliminary final or a shot or 2 at the flag
Nah I don’t really want Ken. Simmo or Horse are better fits.

God that’s dire anyway you slice it - even 3-8 would be appalling. They really should be winning their next 4 games - Eagles, Dogs, Richmond, Melbourne.. drop one of those and for me it should be curtains.
In fact it should be curtains regardless, but if we get to 3-8, geez that’s dire.
They’ll beat WC and Melbourne. I reckon Richmond will upset them and the WB will obliterate them.

Eagles and dogs tough on form. The dogs be a close game and dockers can't win those. Richmond and Melbourne away are tough. I can't see dockers gaining the tough ones

I think they missed a trick with Henry and Acres leaving in the last few years. They are desperate for wingers and they lost the two they actually had.

Feel the midfield has become unbalanced ever since.
Have to disagree. I would honestly prefer O Driscoll and Sharp over those two.
Sharp has had a poor start to the season but was a good player last year and O Driscoll was one of our best players yesterday and will be better than all of them.
Henry is completely overrated. He can not kick the ball any further than 40 metres, and is pretty darn soft. Yeah, he has the odd decent game but they are few and far between.

Not a fan of NOD as he does zero defensive running which has been badly missed since Acres left.

Sharp is just a panic merchant. Too ineffective when he gets the ball.

I think in a more attacking gamestyle you get destroyed on the wings. Both are not good enough

Did you watch the game yesterday? O Driscoll brings more defensive pressure than most others on the team.
I agree Sharp needs to find a target instead of always kicking long. He’s still relatively inexperienced and can improve.
If I was to pick 2 players to be our wingmen for the next 5 years I would still go O Driscoll and Sharp over Acres and Henry though.

I have a feeling the Dockers missing Darcy and Young is pretty significant. I know each team has outs but their midfield dramatically changes with both those guys in. It probably means Caleb Serong isn’t being tagged for a start.

Coaching aside, Brayshaw & Serong are seriously underperforming given the reputation they have.

Can't just be waiting for Darcy(never fit) and Young to come back. Season will be over by then.

Agree with O'Driscoll and would love him at the Eagles.

Sharp?

His kicking is not great and a Liam Henry v Sharp hardness contest is the equivalent of two warm, wilted lettuce leaves facing off at 10 paces apart.

Round 1 vs Geelong we stupidly put Serong in a forward flank. Dumb move. 3rd quarter, be goes in the middle and Freo improves.

Serong is similar to a fully fit Daniel Kerr. A solid versatile 3rd inside mid that can thrive not being heavily tagged.

Can put him on a wing too.

If Richmond beats us, Longmuir will be left in the Barossa valley… that would be the final straw, I don’t think the club could ignore that and not sack him on the spot.
I only say they’ll beat us because we are positively awful and you often win at the G.

Richmond I just have a funny feeling, could be wrong though

I seriously hope people finally catch on to what I've been saying about Luke Ryan for years too, he's lazy, doesn't put enough work in, looks almost out of shape, does not deserve the praise he gets because he pads his stats with cheap disposals.
Couldn't agree more. Probably the only reason he hasn't gone home to Victoria, he knows if he does he'll be center of attention getting body shamed, which he should be, no professional athlete getting paid upwards of 750k a year should look like that.

They aren't, but that doesn't matter. Clearance winners like them can still be super effective if they're finding space with their ball use and getting it in the hands of their better kicks outside the contest. Instead Longmuir has them go down the line, often from a hack panic kick, and move the ball slowly. That's a complete waste of clearance wins.

Why move Young into the midfield and recruit Bolton if you're going to largely just hack it forwards and play slow?

And their gameplan lacks any sort of attempt at transition. They've got guys like Clark, Ryan and Chapman in defense but no real plan to penetrate zones moving forward and create space and free options up the field.
All this talk about not being able to move the ball out of defence
How about the fact that Sydney just defended the corridor well

Wagner was effective in the early parts of the game but then it looked like he got sent to Heeney

I’m not disagreeing but we played a good team hungry for a win so the knives out is harsh
In saying that if Longmire or Bevo wanted to come coach us I probably wouldn’t say no

Why? There's a very good chance Fremantle win four of the next five games. Why would you sack him after that?
The equation this year for him was finals or bust. How many teams go from 0-2 to finals? True we might get a nice run of 5 games but if it's not obvious now it will be after a few more games against genuine contenders. Hawks and GWS will do rude things to us atm.

If Fremantle supporters are going to turn into Port Adelaide supporters, your club is dooomed.

You still have a chance before you morph into oblivion, don't make the same mistake those idiots at Alberton made.
1 finals series in five years with a sixth looking doubtful already. Please explain how wanting better than that is turning us into Port supporters.

Brisbane this time last season was 0-3 after 3 games and 3-6 after 9 games.

Carlton in 2023 had 4 wins, 8 losses and a draw. Ended up 13 wins, 9 losses and a draw and got 5th and a preliminary final

We're not Brisbane mate. They at least had a few years of preliminary finals to look back on as proof that they just needed to stick to the game plan. What from the past 5 years does our playing group have to lean back on now that the chips are down

In the last 5 seasons we only got that 2022 Elim final win we could look back on. Not much isn't it? Glad we won it. Had we not won that, our last finals win was 2015 qf vs the swans
