Can anybody tell me why there's never any crowds at the early rounds of the French Open.
Every year, the grandstands are usually empty. I hope the same thing happens at the Olympics the up themselves French.

We'll find out in a few hours because it probably will be his last appearance at Roland Garros

I think they are just out and about in the outside courts.

Similar to the Aussie when you think about it. THe Early rounds can have some real dud matches on the show courts. Only the love of the big 3 makes them attractive.

I still can't believe Purcell played an underarm serve on his 5th match point. And it would of worked if he didn't fall apart on his next shot because all he needed to do is hit an aggressive bakchand down the line and hit the winner but he hit the most timid shot I have ever seen.. back to challengers...

Nadal played alright but he would of been disappointed to not get a set

Having done the FO, the ones that everyone likes are the twilight and evening sessions. It was packed for Nadal's match. Lets be real on both sides there's a massive lack of drawcards especially on the womens side, as good as Iga is she's as bland as can be with little emotion out there.

If you want to see emotions, do you really want to see Kyrgios out there.
Strangely, I am not a fan of Nick but I am a big fan of McEnroe's and only took an interest in boxing when Ali was around.

I'd rather watch Iga, Gauff and Jabeur doing nothing than the moaning, groaning and grunting of Sharashrieker and Sabalenka which I think is disgraceful and akin to cheating.

Even if they filled the centre court with free seats it would be better than watching top 10 players with nobody in the audience and they probably even had to play crowd reactions in the speakers, like the Covid days when nobody could go to the footy to make it sound like there was someone there.

I have no problem watching Iga live but I get why many wouldn’t she’s almost a robot out there it works for her not saying she should change it. The other three majors don't appear to have that extreme lack of bums on seats as the FO.
I was told the seats have been sold but the patrons are out the back drinking.
If they want to do that, then that's fine and then give the seats to someone who will sit in them.
Surely someone at the FO wants to see the top 10 players in action.

They were probably waiting for the main match which wasn’t Iga against some chump she was thrashing in an hour. Probably having lunch, or watching Sheldon on outside courts before watching Rafa-Zverev. You buy a session you can watch as much or as little as you want, and the other majors are the same. Have you been to Flushing Meadows when there isn’t an American playing? Wimbledon is a bit different the way they do ticketing

Stopped watching when they had a rain delay, just checked the scores. Looks like Purcell should have won that, had plenty of chances.

Have you been to Flushing Meadows when there isn’t an American playing? Wimbledon is a bit different the way they do ticketing

What about the two American sisters at Indian Wells who didn't play there for 14 years because they were racially abused. Plenty of people in the seats there and they should all have been put in prison IMO when they did that to the Williams sisters.

I reckon Wimbledon have got the ticketing correct. if you want to pay a lot you can get in late and if you want to get in late and not pay a huge amount then join the queue.

The only queue at FO during most days is at the bar.

The FO get just over half the attendance of the AO. and there is the reason why seats are empty.

Even tho Andreeva shouldn't be playing because she's Russian, I hope she causes a major upset tonight and Belarusians shouldn't be playing either and I won't be watching.

You need characters to sell tickets fans just won’t bother turning up otherwise. It’s why say Alcaraz gets support regardless how he plays he’s a character on court. The women’s have a lack of them the organisers will be hoping a few last till the quarters.

Sabalenka won’t or is unlikely to win with her draw anyway it’s a very dangerous quarter and if she gets though probably gets Rybakina in a semi

Might want to go out when relatively healthy, there's an event in his home town which is after the Olympics. That makes sense, he won't play Wimbeldon.
