Who knows?Did Fyfe really do something MRP worthy? saw some mention of it, but wasn't sure if someone was taking the piss
Just finished watching the replay as I couldn't watch live, apologies if anything I am saying has already been said over and over. Fantastic win.
- Draper first game and Sharp second game for the club can both hold their heads high. It's fantastic for depth that guys like this can play to the standard as soon as they come into the team.
- Pearce, Clark, Treacy very good - all have started the season well
- Hats off to the mids for getting to work as a group when they had their colours lowered - all had their moments
- Jackson I see people all over the interwebz jizzing themselves about his game, no doubt he's a highlight reel but I actually thought the North ruck split the contest with him and was good. I wouldn't have Jackson bog despite the OMG moments
- I suppose we need Walker for Rankine/Rachele but he's as weak as lollywater.
- Banfield is best 22 now, can't believe it. Well done to the bloke
Johnson was better than Young today.Tend to agree. I know the stats aren't everything but to date he hasn't been a great clearance player. Maybe he needs an extended run inside.
Undoubtedly a real talent but not entirely sure how we develop him short term.
Slight side note but I swear he lined someone up with a hip and shoulder late in the match and was lucky (maybe sheezel?) sidestepped it. He is a big unit.
One thing that annoyed me, is we seem to play a spare in front of Larkey in the first half / quarter. We talk about front half turnovers but you can’t pressure high up the ground when your spare is sitting in defense. It appears we dropped the spare and evened up the numbers behind and ahead of the ball.
Youngs game was under-rated last week ( defensive run aside). This week Johnson was the better of the two I agree .Johnson was better than Young today.
He had some brilliant moments, & some almost brilliant moments, but I reckon most will remember that kick that hit the post.
I didn't like what I had seen from him this year, until today.
For mine, Young hasn't clicked this year IMO, but when he does, watch out

Isn't it deliciousAFL will be hating that top 4
and it's sad supporters couldn't see that
Sheezel had 0 clearances and 6 contested possessions out of 35? It'd have been nice if someone shut him down but Jackson?Random thoughts:
- Jackson had a game of two sides; I thought early on he didn't do enough in the ruck to stop North (particularly Sheezel) getting a clean run at it in the first two quarters and hurting us big time, and I thought Treacy in the middle was working better initially. However, on the other side, Jackson kept running and leaping, ending up with a heap of possessions and heap of marks plus two goals and being close to best on ground. Still wishing though that we had Darcy back to make better use of his (Jackson's) strengths and to better own the ball at centre clearances.

There's a player we had a while ago who had much the same criticism throughout the start of his career who went on to become one of our best ever midfielders.Johnson was pretty good but still left me wanting more. He's so close to just being almost dominant but watching him, I have to think there is a slight attitude problem holding him back. Too much walking, the odd lazy contest or falling asleep on structure. I have to think a large part of the reason he fell was the mental side of the game and I hope for his and our sakes there's some more maturity to come. He clearly has a lot of tools that could make him a genuinely elite AFL player
With the players they have back there and the way they want to play, North might break the season record for goals conceded per inside 50
Yeah Johnson does things others can’t. He might be a slow burn but he’s got elite traits.
I think we need to cut JOM. Brodie offers more & Erasmus deserves more opportunities. JOM is playing on reputation not results.
I'm massive on him and I'm prepared to wait. It's frustrating to see what's there and wonder why it doesnt quite all click (he was still good today). I hope he reaches his ceiling because it would be specialThere's a player we had a while ago who had much the same criticism throughout the start of his career who went on to become one of our best ever midfielders.
The similarities between Johnson and him are uncanny IMO, he'll be a star in his own time.
JOM needs to be given more than a Qtr which he went off for a fair bit getting strapped. Do agree he’s not doing enough but needs to be given more of go and will get that.Yeah Johnson does things others can’t. He might be a slow burn but he’s got elite traits.

Charlie and McKay next week. Could be very uglyWith the players they have back there and the way they want to play, North might break the season record for gaols conceded per inside 50
