They'll just run round 1 over the 2 weekends. It's not that hard.

From what has been explained, it looks as though the teams playing in 'round 0' will also be playing the following weekend. Meaning every side involved in the first weekend of football will be a game ahead for a period of time.

As usual, none of this has been explained particularly well by the AFL.

Sun 10 March (3:20)

Means effectively that eight teams will get two byes during the season and ten teams will get one bye. Sounds super equitable.

Rather than a round zero, can't they just fixture the other five games somewhere else in the same weekend? Just give everyone two byes somewhere.

Am I missing something? The NRL are playing in Vegas on March 2, wouldn't they be playing in Sydney the week after, the week the AFL proposes to start?

Incorrect. The Vegas NRL games are the week before ‘Round Zero’.
