Not sure if it has been mentioned here or how accurate it is, but I was told today that Grant and Bevo haven't been on speaking terms since last year. Been communicating through intermediaries.
I think my source said it was on Fox.

It seems Bevo didn't take kindly to not being consulted before his mate Rohan Smith got the sack.

If that's true, Grant's departure says a bit about the soft power that Bevo holds.

Bevo took the Rohan Smith sacking hard. Not sure their relationship recovered after that.

The media do love to make mountains out of this sort of stuff that the Average Joe couldn't really give two s**** about. Not everybody likes everybody at work. Every workplace in every part of the country. Yawn.

I've disliked plenty of my bosses and colleagues over the years and not really bothered to talk to them, but they would never have known my true feelings.

There’s more information in this thread than in that p!ssy little excuse for an article.

But we should remember it’s the off season and sports “journalists” are desperate for something to put into print.

Funny the club handled Granty's departure quietly and with class but its quiet time of the year and the ambulance chasers try to make a big deal out of it.

We’d done some weird stuff with our defensive schemes over the preceding couple of years under Smith and showed immediate improvement once Pratt came in. It was the right call. I’d hope whoever replaces Grant would make the same call.
Whilst i agree. The head coach should probably be kept in the loop I'd have thought.

Out of all the sports journalists and journo networks, 3AW have got to be one of the worst.

Mitch Cleary is getting there too. He is starting to do the same thing of making something into a bigger issue than it actually is, and has a record of following the partners of AFL players around like a bad smell.

3AW is complete rubbish full stop.

Shrewd editing to include those last couple of seconds where he shakes Bevo's hand.

Nothing to see here, you ambulance chasers in the media!
Although it did appear to be a bit of a half hearted, limp wristed handshake devoid of any real outpouring of emotion?
(But maybe I’m reading too much into it)

Voss is over in England learning from Spurs and other football teams, Few Hawks folks went to NZ and met up with the cricket team, rowing team, Crusaders etc.
I remember Clarko and Bellamy often did stuff together. So many other clubs look to branch out to other sports to see what they can learn, but I can't remember a time we've done that.
Is there anything to it? Is it something we should be looking to do?
We’re still trying to catch up with what other AFL teams are doing!!!

Interesting, I assume Grant leaving wasn’t exactly planned and maybe happened sooner than anticipated.
He was out of contract at the end of the year
So dogs probs expected him to stay till the end
