The best part about the proposed Vic Park stadium placement is that it's safe from any potential asteroid impact. Scientists have already run many models and have confirmed it will be safe:

My dear Nunez, that will be one mighty small asteroid!

I just checked out the BB plans and I've moved the stadium a little north east of where they had it, but it's roughly the same locations.

And for anyone unfamiliar with the area, here's a nice little drone view from Google: https://maps.app.goo.gl/dZSwZHma7wWw1W3k9
I was going to comment on that
As long as the waterways are not affected
You could even go further northeast and reclaim a section of Gilchrist Avenue Road area and one of the flat fields.
As long as it is close to the rail line

But it looks like we are all trying to find a unicorn after Crisafulli recent comment on Vic Park.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has backflipped on his staunch opposition to transforming the ageing Gabba into an Olympics stadium after months of attacking it as a bad idea.

Speaking at Council’s new Brisbane International Cycle Park in Murarrie on November 5, Mr Schrinner said all options needed to be looked at by the government’s 2032 Games 100-day review panel.

“From what I’ve seen in terms of proposals, there’s actually a number of different exciting proposals,’’ Mr Schrinner said.

“I also think that the Gabba has to be looked at again to see if there’s a better way to do that.

“If we have these decisions made by the independent experts and not have elected members jumpings to conclusions (while) more work is being done, I think we will get the best outcome.’’

The article goes on to state that Schrinner called the Gabba a bad idea as recently as last week. Maybe he's been told something by the state LNP.

There is a restaurant precinct around the ekka grounds I believe.
Which is close to VIC Park.
There are actually two near VP: King St, the one you mentioned near the Ekka grounds, and the Kelvin Grove Urban Village, just next to the QUT campus to the west of the park. I reckon stadium should be as close as possible to one of those. In this thread we've already considered options in the east of the park near King St, but I wonder if there's a good site in the west near the QUT KG busway station.

Exactly. I think it's a case of build it and they will come in terms of that sort of thing.

I was playing around this morning and had a look at the Brisbane Bold location for a stadium which makes the most sense the further I look at it.

Like I've said previously, I've spent a bit of time on weekends in the park. The Purple hachured areas are the areas of the park I'd consider poorly utilised. That area on the south of the park next to Gregory Terrace (bottom of the image) is crying out for better usage - I can't recall seeing anyone ever using that area.

Thanks. Would you say there's anywhwre in the west of the park near the QUT campus that might be suitable for a stadium?

Not really. It's a fair bit hillier and you have the busway coming through there. Unless you were to build it on top on the hill where the driving range and function centre are now, like in Quirk's review.
