If you're as tough as you say you are you'd know that majority of boxing/martial art knock outs come from someone being hit on the end of the jaw when they don't see the punch coming (i.e. their opponent has them off balance etc.)

Hit someone on the jaw when they are bracing for the impact and they probably stand up and keep fighting. A dog shot to the jaw when they don't have a chance to flinch rattles the brain against the skull leading to a K.O. Also, bones take the full impact due to lack of the flinching movement removing momentum from the hit and its easy as **** to break a jaw that way. Doesn't matter if they are 18 or 30.

At 16 I was cracked on the Jaw by a 21 year old with a king hit, I went down but my jaw never broke. Some people have glass jaws and others can't take hits to the head. His brother has concussion issues so do we change the rules to suit them ? Shit happens in the world and if we want to keep wrapping everything up in cotton wool then sports are dead!
