Oh come on, wake up. Bomber said in a press conference that he was "burnt out" and would take time AWAY from footy. Then goes and signs with Essendon, not to mention he was in talks with the Bombers for most of 2010. As for Gaz, well he always knew he was going to leave Geelong, and the deal was done before the start of 2010, he should have just said it straight up, "Boys, i'm going". The whole season last year was f***** and the Geelong football club had to pay for it because of those 2 guys.
What does what he considered doing in 2007 got to do with how he departed last year? He didn't leave in 2007 and led Geelong through one of the greatest eras the club has ever seen. Thats fact. What he considered doing is conjecture.
The burn out story was devised by Brian Cook to make him look bad? I just have to laugh because that sounds like something out of Days of our Lives. More conjecture on your part.
The facts are: he wanted out. he wasn't man enough to tell Geelong upfront. he said he was burnt out and needed time away from the game, then signs with Essendon.
Hey its worked out well for both clubs, so good luck to Bomber. But no amount of story telling can hide the fact that the way he departed was a downright shame, for himself and for Geelong.
