I'm pulling my hair out right now and my neck veins are pumping. Watching Port play is torture via frustration. Lecras is always out own his own and hanging inside the goal square unmanned just waiting for cheap goals. Every time WC get a behind it's just a question of how many seconds will it take for them to kick another behind or finally register a goal. Port can't transition from one side of the field to the other. I'm sooo sick of this gamestyle.
this is what happens every single time.
kick out style 1
West Coast get a behind.
Pittard takes the kick and bombs it out to a pack 50m out.
Port takes a mark. Hold ball for 20 seconds and let WC roll their zone back.
Kick the ball down the line to another pack and hope for a mark.
Take a mark and hold the ball for another 20 seconds.
Kick the ball and end result turnover/boundary line or a bounce.
kick out style 2
Pittard takes a kick and kicks it out 15m near the boundary line.
Chaplin takes a mark. Hold the ball for 20 seconds.
Kick the ball 15m to Carlile.
Carlile holds the ball up for 20 seconds 30m out from the goal.
Look for targets.
Can't find any so either look for another pointless 15m kick or bomb the ball to another pack.
End result turnover/boundary line or a bounce.
FFS play on and try and create instead of playing marks up every single god damn kick. Oh yeh and the 1 time Pittard showed some great initiative with playing on he gives it to Kornes. The logical thing for Kornes to do would be to keep the momentum going and look to create play up the field. But nah that's not part of the gameplan. So what does Kornes do? Kick it 15m out again to the boundary line to start up kicking style number 2.
It's just soo frustrating. The only hope Port have of scoring is when the ball is at the centre bounce and they win a clearance. Once the ball is locked in the forward half the team does alright. But as soon as it comes down into the back 50 or anywhere near the defensive half trouble starts.
